    摘要: The present invention is an actuator locking mechanism used for an information recording apparatus, having a simple structure and a large securing force. A locking mechanism of the present invention comprises an actuator, an attractable member, a support member, a spring, and an inertia member. While the attractable member and the actuator are attracted to each other, the support member rotates correspondingly to the movement of the actuator due to an impact force applied to an information recording apparatus, the spring provides elasticity for the support member while elastically deforming, moreover the inertia member is rotated by the impact force, and a securing portion of the inertia member contacts the actuator to limit the movement of the actuator due to the impact force.

    摘要: This invention is directed to a magnetic transducing head for use with a moving magnetic recording medium. Specifically, the invention is directed to a physical construction for the magnetic transducing head for providing an improved contact between the magnetic medium and the magnetic transducing head wherein the magnetic transducing head includes a sharp leading edge constructed of wear-resistant material and wherein the leading edge forms an included angle of 90* or greater between the magnetic medium and the leading edge so that as the magnetic medium passes over the sharp leading edge, the leading edge removes air from the surface of the magnetic medium, which removal of air produces a pressure differential in a direction to urge the magnetic medium into contact with the face of the magnetic transducing head. Generally, the invention may also provide for a flat face for the magnetic transducing head so as to maintain the close contact between the magnetic medium and the face of the magnetic transducing head.

    摘要: An electromagnetic transducer head is provided which exhibits a wide band recording response characteristic, and which comprises a plurality of separate magnetic head structures operating over different, overlapping frequency bands, and formed into an integral assembly. Each separate head structure of the assembly includes a magnetic core, and each core is provided with a gap. The cores are positioned adjacent one another so that the gaps are aligned to define a common gap, and the recording medium is drawn across the common gap. The common gap is tapered, with the gap width of each aligned gap section being different from its adjacent section. Separate windings are wound about the cores, each having different numbers of turns so as to cover overlapping frequency ranges.
