Abstract:
In the optical guiding apparatus disclosed, the optical beam is guided and focused by solid lenses which are automatically positioned with respect to a reference axis established by the sensors. Fixed relative positioning of the sensors permits the movement of the lenses in a small number of discrete steps, each step being substantially equal to a threshold position error of a control loop. In a first embodiment, each sensor controls a plurality of beampositioning lenses collectively to provide the downstream beam position correction. two-position control and three-position control are employed. In second and third embodiments, each sensor effects compensating movements of upstream and downstream lenses to modify the beam position only locally.
Abstract:
A shadow mask support assembly for a color cathode-ray tube prevents partial thermal deformation generated by welding a shadow mask and a mask frame. Also, the shadow mask support assembly for a color cathode-ray tube includes a mask frame suspended and supported in the inner face of the panel, a shadow mask inserted in the inner circumference of the mask frame, and an elastic band for supporting the inner circumference of the mask frame body which presses a skirt portion of the shadow mask from its outer circumference to prevent welding the mask frame and the shadow mask.
Abstract:
At one of the vacuum tube is disposed an opaque photocathode receiving light from a window in the other end of the tube along a light axis which is spaced from and parallel to the axis of the tube. An accelerating mesh adjacent the photocathode rapidly accelerates the light produced photoelectrons in cooperation with an oblique electron lens along a path having an angle which is oblique to the light axis and tube axis toward a target or readout device. A field mesh adjacent the readout device accelerates the photoelectrons after being deflected by deflection plates to the readout device to provide an output photoelectron streak image thereon.
