摘要: The invention relates to a stack of electrochemical cells (10A, 10B), divided up into at least two groups (A, B), each cell comprising a distribution circuit for a reactive species, and each group of cells comprising a separate supply collector (2A; 2B). At least one cell (10B) comprises a homogenization compartment (60B) comprising: a plurality of longitudinal conduits (61B) designed to receive the flow of the reactive species coming from the supply collector (2B) of the corresponding group and to distribute it over the inlet (51B) of the distribution circuit for the cell; and, a transverse conduit (62B) for homogenization connecting the longitudinal conduits (61B) to one another in a fluid sense.

摘要: A fuel cell includes a fuel cell stack. A pressure plate is arranged on one side of the fuel cell stack. The pressure plate includes a hole, and a tie rod assembly has a tie rod received in the hole. A nut with a conical surface is secured to the tie rod. An isolator is arranged in the hole between the tie rod assembly and the pressure plate. The isolator has a conical portion, and the conical surface engages the conical portion to provide a conical interface. The tie rod assembly applies a clamp load on the fuel cell stack via the conical interface.

摘要: The invention relates to a separator plate for an electrochemical system, comprising a first and a second plate, which are essentially congruently arranged on top of one another. 摘要: The present invention provides a fuel cell cap that includes a flanged edge region in which a gasket is positioned, and which is adapted to be sealingly fit over the edge of fuel cell and successive heat energy transmitting sections that concentrate the heat energy for ultimate emission. A dome-shaped first region is integral with and positioned radially inward from the flanged edge region followed by a first stack region of cylindrical cross-sectional shape that is integral with and extending upwardly from the dome-shaped first region. Next, a second stack region of cylindrical cross-section shape extends upwardly from the first stack region and is of a second diameter smaller than the first diameter. Finally, an inwardly tapering region extends upwardly from the second stack region and emits the heat energy from the cap.

摘要: A solid oxide fuel cell stack having a metallic layer and a glass layer, and a method for preventing or reducing a chemical reaction between the metallic layer and the glass layer are disclosed. The solid oxide fuel cell stack has a barrier layer disposed between the metallic layer and the glass layer. The barrier layer includes alumina and a phosphate. The phosphate includes an aluminum dihydrogen phosphate, an aluminum-containing phosphate, a phosphate of an element of the metallic layer, a phosphate of an element of the glass layer, or combinations thereof. The method includes disposing a barrier layer between the metallic layer and the glass layer.

摘要: Disclosed is a fuel cell membrane electrode assembly (MEA) embodiment including an anode layer; at least one exchange membrane that is disposed on the anode layer as either a single-layered structure including one exchange membrane or a multi-layered structure including a plurality of exchange membranes, each exchange membrane of the at least one exchange membrane consisting of a film comprising hexagonal boron, and the at least one exchange membrane having a total thickness ranging from 0.3 to 3 nm; an interfacial binding layer that completely covers an exposed surface of one exchange membrane which is obverse to the anode layer and that consists of poly(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) as a binder material; and a cathode layer formed on the interfacial binding layer. Alternately, a fuel cell membrane electrode embodiment may completely eliminate the interfacial binding layer and both embodiments provide superior fuel cell performance.

摘要: A separator plate for an electrochemical system has two metal individual plates. The plates have passage openings for operating media and possibly coolant, and distribution structures. The distribution structures are formed in the metal individual plates and which each communicate with at least two of the passage openings. A peripherally extending sealing structure is formed in each of the metal individual plates at least peripherally around the electrochemically active region and at a distance therefrom and/or peripherally around at least one of the passage openings and at a distance from the edge thereof. The cross-section of the sealing structure has a bead roof, two bead flanks, and at least in some segments, two bead feet. At least in the region of the bead roof of the sealing structure at least in some segments, the sealing structure extends sinuously with at least two wave periods having convex and concave segments.
