摘要： A detector array for a laser imaging apparatus comprises a plurality of detectors disposed in an arc around an opening in which an object to be scanned is disposed; and a variable gain integrator operably connected to each detector to accommodate the dynamic range of each detector. A method for collecting data for use in image reconstruction of an object being scanned is also disclosed, comprising the steps of providing a plurality of detectors disposed in an arc around the object to be scanned, including a variable gain amplifier connected to each detector; impinging a laser beam at a point on the object; integrating the input to each integrating amplifier at several time intervals; recording each output at each integration interval for use in image reconstruction; orbiting the detectors and the laser beam to a next point on a circle; and repeating steps until a complete circle has been traversed.

摘要： First and second reading modules read first and second signals in the main scanning direction of the image of a document. The scanning module includes a carriage for relatively moving the first and second reading modules and the image of the document in a sub-scanning direction to make the modules scan the image. A scanning-control-condition selecting module selects scanning control conditions of the scanning module in accordance with a plurality of read magnifications preset as read magnifications of the document by the first and second reading modules. A first setting module sets the scanning control conditions to a plurality of control conditions in accordance with the read magnification of the first reading module. A second setting module sets the scanning control conditions to a plurality of control conditions in accordance with the read magnification of the second reading module. An operating module computes the image data at a corresponding read magnification through operations in accordance with the first and second signals read by the first and second reading modules at any one of the preset read magnifications when set to a read magnification other than the preset read magnifications.

摘要： A linear image sensor device with at least two lines including linear sensors 10, 20, which device is capable of showing a wide dynamic range. In the linear image sensor device, one linear sensor 10 is made to have a high sensitivity, while the other linear sensor 20 is made to have a low sensitivity. The linear sensors are respectively equipped with readout gates 13, 23 for reading out charges from sensor arrays 12, 22 comprising a number of pixels and CCD analog shift registers 14, 24 for transferring the charges read out. In the other linear sensor 20, analog memories 29a, 29b are provided between the readout gate 23 and the CCD analog shift register 24. Owing to the provision of the analog memories 29a, 29b, the signal outputs OUT1, OUT2 simultaneously occur, which can eliminate a problem coming from the difference in position between the lines.
