摘要： There is provided a liquid crystal display device including a first transparent substrate and a second transparent substrate pasted to each other via a liquid crystal sealing space in between, and provided with a predetermined display region. The first transparent substrate is integrally formed with an extension extending further than an edge of the second transparent substrate and longitudinally of the edge of the second transparent substrate. The extension is provided with at least one semiconductor chip having a longitudinal axis laid longitudinally of the extension. The extension is formed with an external connection terminal region including a plurality of terminals. The external connection terminal region does not overlap the semiconductor chip widthwise of the extension.

In particular, the invention is a connector to couple a gases supply means and a conduit, such that the connector causes there to be an electrical and pneumatic, that is, sealed connection between a conduit including an electrical wire extending within, throughout or about it and a gases supply device, such as a humidifier, blower or the like. The connector may be of a single port type or a dual port type. The dual port type connector is suitable for ventilator apparatus that have a dry line (dry breathing conduit) extending from a ventilator or blower that carries dry gas to a humidifier and an inspiratory limb that extends from the humidifier to the patient and carries humidified gases to the patient.

A heater wire 5, air conducting wire and terminal 6 of ECU side are inserted into the first opening 3a, while an air-conducting heater wire 7 and terminal 8 of sensor side are inserted into second opening 3b. Within the air conduction path 3, the ECU side terminal 6 and the sensor side terminal 8 are electrically interconnected. First opening 3a is sealed with resin. The rear part of the air conduction path 3 is sealed with a sealing material 8b. The sensor side terminal 8 and the ECU side terminal 6 are electrically interconnected on insertion to communicate an air conducting part of the sensor side heater wire 7 with an air conducting part of the ECU side heater wire 5 through air conduction path 3.

Each drill pipe section has a first end and a second end, and a wall, and the first end has a first radial sealing surfaces (11) and the second end has a corresponding second radial surfaces (59), such that when the first or second end of one drill pipe section is engaged with the second or first end respectively of another drill pipe section, at least one seal is formed. The drill pipe includes at least one conductor (21) disposed inside it, this conductor being connected to a first contact means at the first end and a corresponding contact means at the second end of each drill pipe section. Ingress protection means (240) are provided to protect the contact means from ingress from inside or outside of the drill pipe section. The ingress protection means comprises a sealed volume surrounding the contact means.
