The rear connector body interfaces with the forward connector body. The metal frame surrounds at least a portion of both the forward connector body and the rear connector body. The metal frame including a shielding interface, wherein the metal frame is secured to the forward connector body with at least two retaining features. The exactly one pair of electrical contacts comprises a first electrical contact and a second electrical contact that extend from the rear connector body into the forward connector body.

摘要: An assembly for terminating a high speed cable. The assembly includes a shell housing and preassembled crosstalk shield. The shell housing has a mating end and a conductor receiving end, One or more shield receiving recesses extend from the conductor receiving end toward the mating end. The preassembled crosstalk shield has mounting projects which are positioned in the one or more shield receiving recesses. The mounting projections and the one or more shield receiving recesses provide an interference engagement to provide a secure mechanical and electrical connection between the shell housing and the preassembled crosstalk shield.

摘要: An apparatus for maintaining cross-talk below a predetermined threshold is disclosed. The apparatus comprises cable mating zone for connecting each of a first set of contact pairs with a respective twisted pair of cable conductors, a device mating zone for connecting each of a second set of contact pairs with a respective pair of device contacts and an intermediate transmission zone for connecting each of the first set of contact pairs with a respective one of the second set of contact pairs. In each of the zones the cross talk noise is prevented from exceeding a predetermined cross talk noise threshold.

摘要: An electrical connector system includes a connector with a plug. A shroud extends over a portion of the plug and is coupled with the plug. A conductive socket is configured for receiving the plug of the connector. The socket includes a groove formed on an outer surface thereof. The shroud includes spring fingers having a lock portion thereon configured for engaging the groove for securing the connector in the socket. A collar is slidably mounted on the conductive socket and is configured for sliding between a locked position proximate to the socket groove and an unlocked position. The collar is further configured for engaging the spring fingers of the connector shroud in the locked position to hold the finger lock portions engaged with the groove to lock the connector in the socket.

摘要: A connector system having a plurality of high-speed connector modules, an anti-decoupling connector shell, and a multi axis backshell is provided. The high-speed module provides a low signal degradation electrically conductive signal path for terminated wires of twisted pairs of wires. The high-speed module additionally provides for dense placement of the terminated wires within the connector shell. The connector shell provides an anti-decoupling mechanism to prevent decoupling of the connector shell from a socket type connector shell resulting from typical forces applied to the connector shell. The multi-axis backshell provides mechanisms to toollessly adjust the angle of the various components making up the backshell which in turn provides a specifically angled path for cables contained within the backshell.

Two pairs of signal terminals (11B-11E) and a ground terminal (11A) placed between the pairs of signal terminals are included. These terminals (11A-11E) include rising portions (11Ab-11Eb) exposed from a terminal support member, the rising portions rising from a principal surface, which has a terminal-to-terminal direction and a length direction, of the terminal support member toward a cable connection side in a height direction. At least part of the rising portion (11Ab) of the ground terminal is positioned within an area of an intersection region of a first virtual portion (1a) positioned in the terminal-to-terminal direction between the rising portion (11B) of the signal terminal that is adjacent to the ground terminal (11A) and included in one of the pairs and the rising portion (11C) of the signal terminal included in the other pair, and a second virtual portion (a2) positioned between the same rising portions in the length direction, within at least one plane that is orthogonal to the height direction and spreads parallel to the principal surface of the terminal support member.

In one embodiment, the termination block has contact interfaces configure to electrically engage the plug contacts and arranged such that the contact interfaces which are connected to plug contacts 1-8, become connected to plug contacts 8-1 when the termination block is rotated 180 degrees. In one embodiment, the coupling from the paths for contact 3 to contacts 1, 2, 4, and 5, respectively, is the same as the coupling for contact 6 to contacts 7, 8, 5, and 4, respectively.

摘要: A connector is capable of replacing an STP cable (10B) and a UTP cable (10A) without a large structural change. UTP connection terminals (21A) are accommodated in accommodating portions (26) of a UTP dielectric (22A) that are close to each other in a width direction. Thus, elastic contact pieces (32) thereof are located inside and close to each other in the width direction, while receiving portions (31) are located outside and spaced from each other in the width direction. STP connection terminals (21B) are accommodated in accommodating portions (26) of an STP dielectric (22B) that are spaced more apart in the width direction than those of the UTP dielectric (22A). Thus, elastic contact pieces (32) thereof are located outside and are spaced from each other in the width direction, while receiving portions (31) thereof are located inside so as to be close to each other in the width direction.
