This invention provides a rotating electric machine using an inner section of a slot of a stator as a cooling passage and allowing a high cooling efficiency. Furthermore, it provides a manufacture method for the rotating electric machine which allows streamlining of the manufacture of the cooling passage. A plate is attached to the plate retaining groove formed in proximity to the opening of the slot of the stator. A resin layer is formed by injection of resin into a space formed between the outer face of the plate and the mold set on an inner peripheral face of the stator. The plate is pressed by the injection pressure of the resin to come into close contact with the stopper and to create a seal which prevents leakage of resin into the slot. A rotor assembly for a dynamo electric machine, the rotor assembly comprising a rotor core incorporating radially extending rotor poles, rotor windings encircling respective rotor poles, circumferentially extending pole tips at the outer end of each pole respectively, said tips overlying the rotor winding encircling the respective pole, a plurality of rotor slot closure members, each closure member spanning the gap between a pair of adjacent poles, and including lateral flanges interposed between the respective rotor windings and the associated pole tips, a spacer member positioned beneath each closure member and engaging the radially extending faces of the adjacent windings, and, a locking wedge assembly comprising a pair of locking wedges extending axially of the rotor assembly between each closure member and the associated spacer, the locking wedges extending with their tapers in opposite directions so that moving the wedges longitudinally towards one another increases the radial dimension of the combination of the locking wedges driving the associated spacer and closure apart in a radial direction. A brushless DC motor minimizes a chance of dislocation of or damage to an insulator used in the brushless DC motor. Slant portions are provided at end portions of the insulator; therefore, even if a nozzle of a machine for installing a winding should hit the insulator while moving between teeth, the insulator moves in a direction for coming in close contact with a slot aperture, i.e., in a direction substantially at right angles to a direction in which the nozzle moves. This arrangement prevents the insulator from moving by being pushed by the nozzle, making it possible to minimize a chance of occurrence of an insulation failure caused by a damaged or dislocated insulator.
