If synchronization of the rotor and stator-field is determined, the method includes incrementing the counter of synchronization, determining if the counter is greater than a certain value, and if the counter is greater than the certain value, switching from open-loop commutation to closed-loop commutation. If the counter is not greater than the certain value, the method includes proceeding to step (c).

The SCR system includes analog rack mounted hardware cards for control of an engine AC generator and a DC load. The engine AC generator of the SCR system generates alternating current (AC) that is then converted to direct current (DC) by a silicon controlled rectifier transformer connected to the output of the engine AC generator. The DC power from the silicon controlled rectifier transformer drives one or more DC motors that are coupled to a load by a mechanical linkage. An AC generator controller controls the engine AC generator and includes an engine control module that controls operating speed of the engine AC generator and air-fuel mixture at engine start. A DC load controller coupled to the silicon controlled rectifier transformer and DC motors performs automatic load share control between the DC motors.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for accelerating a motor from an intermediate velocity to a final operational velocity. The motor is accelerated from rest to the intermediate velocity through application of fixed duration drive pulses to the spindle motor. Once the motor reaches the intermediate velocity, commutation circuitry and back electromotive force (bemf) detection circuitry use detected bemf from the motor to electronically commutate the motor to accelerate to the final operational speed. A phase lock oscillator (PLO) attempts to acquire frequency lock for the motor. A control circuit measures the current in the motor to evaluate the effectiveness of the phase lock. If the measured current is found to be above a threshold value, the motor is restarted.
