    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically changing configurations of multi-inverter drive systems. By changing configurations during operation, a multi-inverter system of the present invention can provide greater than half of full output power during failure of a power cell and can provide efficient braking torque during regeneration. The inverter drive system includes a plurality of single pole inverter cells and a configuration switch system connecting the single pole inverter cells in a star configuration and for changing the connection configuration of the single pole inverter cells. In one embodiment, the configuration switch system is adapted to dynamically change the star configuration of the inverter system to a mesh configuration during operation of the load. In another embodiment, the configuration switch system is adapted to dynamically change the star configuration of the single pole inverter cells to form a polyphase inverter.

    摘要: An electrical rotating apparatus comprises an inverter system that outputs more than three phases. The apparatus further includes a stator comprising a plurality of slots and full span concentrated windings, with the windings being electrically coupled to the inverter system, and a rotor electromagnetically coupled to a magnetic field generated by the stator. A signal generator generates a drive waveform signal, that has a fundamental frequency, and the drive waveform signal drives the inverter system. The drive waveform signal has a pulsing frequency and is in fixed phase relation to the fundamental frequency. Additionally, the inverter system may be fed by a drive waveform signal that is fed through at least one signal delay device.

    摘要: An electric drive system is provided to generate varying amounts of output torque supplied to a driven member over a wide range of constant revolutions per minute speeds to reduce power consumption. The electric motor includes a rotor and a stator assembly. The stator assembly is disposed around the rotor and is inductively coupled to the rotor. The stator assembly further includes a plurality of poles, each pole consisting of a plurality of split windings wound so that the magnetic fluxes generated therefrom are added. Power switching circuits are provided for energizing the partition drives of split windings on each of the stator poles. A controller is used to selectively control the frequency, pulse width modulation, and partition configuration to vary the rotational speed and torque generation supplied to the driven member.

    摘要: An inverter for an electric machine is specified that includes a plurality of switching elements, in particular six, which are positioned in a bridge circuit and produce a connection between the electric machine and a battery. The switching elements built into the low-side branch of the inverter are ones that are conductive without a control voltage present, i.e., normally-on switching elements. That ensures that if the supply voltage is absent and the electric machine is rotating the windings of the electric machine are short circuited and no overvoltages are able to occur. In normal operation the inverter is operated like a conventional inverter, by clocked actuation, but with reversed actuation of the control electrodes, i.e., with control voltage for non-conductive time phases and without control voltage in conductive phases.

The driver IC includes two outputs that are serially connected to the conversion circuit and then connected to the coil. The conversion circuit includes two transistors respectively connected two ends of the coil. The outputs of the driver IC respectively send out alternate on/off signals to respectively turn the transistors on and off, thereby controlling directions of current passing the coil. Thus, the coil generates alternative magnetic fields as a result of alternative directions of the current to thereby drive the rotor.

The first and second outputs are adapted for electrical interconnection with armature terminals of a DC motor, and the third output is adapted for electrical interconnection with a field terminal of the motor. A microprocessor routine calculates motor speed from the motor armature voltage, field current and armature current. An outer control loop for motor speed and two separately controllable inner control loops for armature and field current control the DC/DC converter responsive to the calculated motor speed and a speed reference in order to independently control the three DC voltage values.
