    摘要: A fusible mechanical linkage includes a tensioner having an aperture and a spool with guides arranged on an end of the spool opposite the aperture. The guides define a cable seat between one another. A fusible alloy is arranged between the spool and the tensioner, the fusible alloy fixing the spool to the tensioner below a predetermined temperature, the fusible alloy allowing tension carried by an actuation cable received in the cable seat to rotate the spool relative to the tensioner above the predetermined temperature. Fire suppression systems and methods adjusting actuation cables in fire suppression systems are described.

    摘要: A fire suppression system having a first triggering mechanism capable of being remotely triggered in response to a fire condition and a second manual triggering mechanism. More particularly, the fire extinguisher includes a valve for a fire extinguisher capable of manual and automatic operation. The system further includes a mechanism to notify of inoperable local status. During automatic operation, the system can be being triggered by a control panel in electrical communication, such as in response to a signal from smoke detectors. This system may also be manually triggered or in response to a temperature threshold sensor or other sensors. The valve includes an actuator that provides a separate area to place a safety pin for storing securely, and which provides feedback to the control system that the safety pin is properly stored and therefore, the fire extinguisher is active.

    摘要: A thermal trigger assembly for remote mechanical actuation of another fire protection system component includes an activation component having a base and a movable member. A bias member biases the movable member from a preactivation to an activated position with respect to the base. A thermally responsive element retains the movable member in the preactivation position until a predetermined thermodynamic condition is reached, when the thermally responsive element loses structural integrity. A flexible connector includes a flexible hollow outer cable housing with one end configured to be stationarily (preferably fixedly) connected with the base. A flexible cable is inside the outer cable housing for sliding movement therein and has one end configured to be stationarily (preferably fixedly) connected with the movable member. The flexible cable is moved with respect to the outer cable housing by movement of the movable member upon loss of structural integrity by the thermally responsive element.

    摘要: A dry fire protection sprinkler has an inlet seal assembly to seal an inlet orifice. A spring seal compresses in response to a load. An inlet release unit releases the inlet seal assembly. A flexible tube has an inlet end connected to the inlet release unit. A flexible linkage extends through the flexible tube, and has an inlet end connected to the inlet release. An outlet biasing portion is connected to an outlet end of the tube and an outlet end of the linkage, which displaces upon activation of the sprinkler. A sprinkler body is connected to the outlet biasing portion, with an outlet seal assembly to seal its outlet orifice. When ambient reaches a predetermined temperature, the outlet seal assembly releases from the outlet orifice, and the outlet biasing portion displaces the linkage, causing the inlet of the linkage to operate the inlet release unit, releasing the inlet seal.
