    摘要: A support arrangement for supporting a workpiece at a processing device during processing of the workpiece. The support arrangement comprises: a fixating means adapted to arrange an abutment surface of the support arrangement in contact with one side of the workpiece when another opposite side of the workpiece abuts one or more fences of the processing device, a locking means adapted to lock the fixating means in a contact position where abutment surface of the support arrangement abuts the one side of the workpiece when another opposite side of the workpiece abuts the one or more fences of the processing device, and a connecting means adapted to connect the support arrangement with the processing device. The support arrangement may be applied e.g. at saw devices for fixating a log to be sawn, in order to achieve a satisfactory result for a sawing process, e.g. planks with a high dimensional accuracy it is important that the workpiece is reliably fixated during the sawing process.

    摘要: An articulating band saw apparatus provides a frame that includes a vertically extending section having upper and lower end portions. An elevator moves between the upper and lower end portions of the frame. A first hydraulic actuator is supported on the elevator for movement therewith. A first arm provides arm end portions, the first arm supported by the first hydraulic actuator. An end of the first arm supporting a second hydraulic actuator that is spaced away from the first hydraulic actuator. The second hydraulic actuator supports a second arm. An endless band type saw is mounted on the free end of the second arm generally opposite the second actuator. The band saw is movable by articulation of the first and second actuators and resulting movement of the first and second arms. In one embodiment, the band saw is a diamond wire saw.

The device further includes a feed for driving the bow with respect to the clamp portion and a detector for detecting bending of the wire and a control responsive to the detector for controlling feed rates. The device is made of modular parts and has synchronizing arms for clamping around a length of pipe. In one embodiment, the wheels are retained in enclosures with slots through which the cutting wire passes.

The method includes suspending the endless band saw blade between a driving wheel and a driven wheel such that the workpiece may be cut by the endless band saw blade, applying at least a first pulse and a second pulse to a first motor rotating the driving wheel and a second motor rotating the driven wheel, respectively, wherein the pulses have phases opposite to each other, and cutting the workpiece. The band saw machine includes an endless band saw blade suspended between a driving wheel having a first motor and a driven wheel having a second motor. The band saw machine further includes a pulse applying module that applies at least a first pulse and a second pulse to the first motor and the second motor, respectively, wherein the pulses have phases opposite to each.

    摘要: A tensioning mechanism for adjusting tension of a cutting chain in a chain saw. A rotatable knob operates with an engine chassis, clutch cover, and guide bar, whereby the knob may be rotated between a tightened position and loosened position, by which the guide bar is loosened and may be adjusted. The knob is provided with a knob handle, pivotally connected to the knob and pivotable between locked and unlocked positions. When the knob handle is in the locked position, at least one, but not all, of a plurality of handle engagement points engage with corresponding fixed engagement points that are fixed relative to the clutch cover. When the knob handle is in the unlocked position, the handle engagement points are disengaged from the fixed engagement points. Further, the engagement points are visible when the knob handle is in both locked and unlocked positions.

    摘要: The band saw self cooling roller guide is defined by a main cylindrical roller body having a front portion of reduced diameter forming a collar for mounting coaxially around a shaft, and a flange extending from the rear portion thereof forming a shoulder. The thin rear edge of the band saw blade or ribbon abuts the flange which aids in aligning the blade, and the flat surface of the blade rests upon a plurality of grooves formed around the peripheral surface of the main roller body. A plurality of apertures such as louvered holes are formed in the face of the body and extend through the flange to funnel air their the rotating roller body cooling the roller, aligning the blade, and extending the wear thereof.

    摘要: There is disclosed a machine for saw-sizing of lumber and a method for its use. The machine has a frame and a work table surface which supports at least one and, preferably four, bandsaws. The bandsaws are each positioned at an incident angle from 20.degree. to about 80.degree. to the surface of the lumber which is fed through the machine. The lumber is fed from the back side or back edge of the bandsaw saw blades. The machine is specifically designed for a single pass sizing of all four sides of lumber with two vertical bandsaws and two horizontal bandsaws; the horizontal bandsaws are positioned to size the bottom and top surfaces of the lumber while the vertical bandsaws are positioned to size the opposite vertical sides of the lumber. The method comprises passing the lumber through the machine from the back edge of the bandsaw blades to drag the lumber against the bandsaw blades. This results in a rough saw sized texture to the lumber without any significant change in its dimensions.
