    Abstract: An apparatus for mechanically producing a three-dimensional packaging product from a web-shaped starting material (e.g., paper starting material) may include a forming station with a convergence channel for transversely compressing (e.g., turning-in or rolling-in) the starting material, and a conveying device for drawing off the starting material from a supply of starting material which is arrangeable upstream of the forming station in the conveying direction. The forming station may have mounting plate, on a guide side thereof, which is facing the convergence channel. The starting material entering the forming station is guided. The mounting plate may have at least one drive means of the conveying device rotatably mounted thereon, and a motor driving the at least one drive means may be further attached.

    Abstract: A dunnage conversion system (100) includes a supply area (120), a dunnage conversion machine (110), and an arcuate slot (130). The supply area (120) is configured to hold a supply of a sheet material (122). The sheet material (122) is in a substantially flat configuration in the supply area (120). The dunnage conversion machine (110) is configured to pull the sheet material (122) from the supply area (120) and to convert the sheet material (122) into a non-flat configuration. The arcuate slot (130) is positioned between the supply area (120) and the dunnage conversion machine (110) such that the sheet material (122) is fed through the arcuate slot (130) as the sheet material (122) passes along a path from the supply area (120) to the dunnage conversion machine (110).

    Abstract: A pleated filter preparation system is provided for accurately counting pleats along a continuous sheet of pleated filter material and cutting the sheet into filter strips to be formed into filters. The pleated filter preparation system includes a pleat driver having multiple drive gears that engage with the pleats of the pleated filter material to move the pleated filter material through the system. A pleat counter counts peaks and valleys of each pleat comprising the pleated filter material so as to identify a target pleat to be cut. The pleat counter clamps and stretches the target pleat to distinguish the target pleat among the other pleats. A punch cut station cuts the target pleat to form a filter strip having a desired number of pleats. A pleat compressor compresses the filter strips to a predetermined size and then ejects the filter strips into a suitable container or bin.

    Abstract: A dunnage producing system is disclosed. The system comprises a material feed section configured to feed a sheet stock material into the system to convert it into a dunnage product. The system further comprises a drive belt having a plurality of lugs fixed on the drive belt configured to engage one or more die-cut openings in the sheet stock or roll stock material. The system further comprises one or more folding mandrels and a glue feed section. The folding mandrels capture the engaged sheet stock or roll stock material between the drive belt and folding mandrels. the glue feed section comprises a tank loaded with pre-melted adhesive material, a hose to transfer the post melted adhesive materials, and a dispensing nozzle to pump the melted adhesive material to the sheet stock material. A controller then receives measurement information and control the functions of the system to produce dunnage product.
