摘要: There is provided a method of controlling a pedal cycle and a pedal cycle incorporating the same. The pedal cycle has an electro-mechanical drive arrangement including a continuously variable ratio transmission system having an input which is mounted to rotate about the axis and an output connected to rotate with a hub member, the transmission system comprising an epicyclic gear set including a sun gear in mesh with a plurality of planet gears mounted to rotate about respective planet shafts carried by a common carrier, which is mounted to rotate with the input about the axis, the planet gears being in mesh with an annulus gear, which is connected to rotate with the hub member. Only the sun gear may be connected to rotate a rotor of an electrical machine or an additional machine may be provided. The electrical connections of the stator of the electrical machine are connected to a controller; the method may include the step of applying a time division multiplexed control algorithm to the electrical machine, wherein the time division multiplexed control algorithm alternates between a first control mode in which current generated by the electrical machine is monitored to infer torque applied to the crank arms of the cycle and a second control mode in which the current in the input electrical machine is controlled using the inferred torque.

The remote control further includes an operating switch arranged to switch the remote control between a first and a second operating state for controlling the assist motor and control motor, respectively.

摘要: A human power conversion system incorporates two or more electric machines to aid in the powering of a vehicle through energy conversion. A first electric machine is coupled with the human powered input and acts as a generator when a human power input is not sufficient to produce electrical power that is provided to a second electric machine that propels the vehicle. The vehicle may be a bicycle and the first electric machine may be coupled to the crank. A bi-coupled electric machine including the first and second electric machines with a common rotor or stator may be employed and coupled to the crank and/or the driven wheel. Power produced by the first electric machine may be provided directly to the second machine or may be stored in a battery and used to propel the vehicle or power other electronic components.

The transmission portion may comprise a flywheel and a braking portion, which may apply a braking force to the flywheel. The apparatus may further comprise a control logic unit, through which training parameters may be set, and a sensor coupled to the control logic unit. The sensor may detect a signal relating to the torque acting on the flywheel and thereby send a signal to the control logic unit; the control logic unit may be configured to adjust the braking force of the braking portion applied to the flywheel, thereby adjusting the resistance to the pedals as a function of parameters set, as appropriate, and communicate information and adjust such changes via a feedback signal from the sensor.

摘要: Traction planets and traction rings can be operationally coupled to a planetary gearset to provide a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT can be used in a bicycle. In one embodiment, the CVT is mounted on the frame of the bicycle at a location forward of the rear wheel hub of the bicycle. In one embodiment, the CVT is mounted on and supported by members of the bicycle frame such that the CVT is coaxial with the crankshaft of the bicycle. The crankshaft is configured to drive elements of the planetary gearset, which are configured to operationally drive the traction rings and the traction planets. Inventive component and subassemblies for such a CVT are disclosed. A shifting mechanism includes a plurality of pivot arms arranged to pivot about the centers of the traction planets as a shift pin hub moves axially.

摘要: A bicycle crank transmission apparatus includes: a hollow shaft member; a base plate coupled to the shaft member on one side and installed securely on a bottom bracket featuring a spindle on the other side; a chainring housing coupled to the shaft member in a way that allows its rotation and having a ring gear installed securely inside; a reduction gear unit arranged in the middle of the ring gear; a directly-coupled ratchet unit installed on the ring gear; a crank cover where a coupling shaft coupled to the spindle is perpendicularly provided in the center and where clutch ratchet teeth, which are engaged with the directly-coupled ratchet unit, and directly-coupled ratchet teeth are vertically stacked on the internal wall surface; and a sun gear installed on the coupling shaft in such a way that it only rotates in clockwise direction and partially engaged with the reduction gear unit.
