    摘要: Systems and methods for shrink wrap bundling a group of heat-sensitive products are provided. A method comprises: providing a heating oven with a convective heat source and a radiant electromagnetic energy source therein and a product; and wrapping the product with a shrink film that comprises an activation temperature and an electromagnetic energy absorbance level. The method also comprises: placing the wrapped product inside the heating oven for a predetermined duration of residence time; exposing the wrapped product to radiant electromagnetic energy for a predetermined duration of exposure time, wherein the direction of the electromagnetic energy is coincidental or approximately coincidental with a plane of the shrink film; and removing the wrapped product from the heating oven resulting in the wrapped product being robustly bundled according to a defined Bundle Rigidity Test without substantial damage to the heat-sensitive products of the wrapped product.

    摘要: An apparatus for shrinking film onto products moving along a conveyance path includes an elongated steam chamber shaped to form a shrink tunnel through which the conveyance path extends, wherein tunnel side surface portions of the elongated steam chamber bound the path at least in tunnel regions above a plane of the conveyance path and the tunnel side surface portions are heated by steam within the elongated steam chamber and the tunnel side surface portions thereby radiate heat into the shrink tunnel. At least one steam header is positioned within the shrink tunnel and extending along at least part of a length of the shrink tunnel, the steam header including a plurality of steam ejection orifices for ejecting steam into the shrink tunnel. At least one steam flow path feeds steam from an output of the elongated steam chamber to an input of the at least one steam header.

    摘要: A shrink wrapping apparatus, and associated process, includes a housing (turbine) having a wall forming a passage dimensioned to receive the associated container assembly and associated sleeve. The passage has an inlet and an outlet spaced therefrom, and the inlet is located vertically above the outlet such that the associated container assembly and associated sleeve move from the inlet toward the outlet. A steam path communicates with the passage to provide steam from an associated steam source to at least a portion of the passage in order to shrink wrap the associated sleeve on the associated container assembly as the container assembly and sleeve move downwardly through the passage and the steam naturally rises upwardly through the passage.

    摘要: A heat shrink tunnel with width adjustment includes a pair of opposing side wall assemblies, each including an outer wall and an inner perforated wall defining a plenum therebetween. The opposing side walls define a product path with the side wall assemblies being movable toward and away from each other. A heater/blower assembly disposed in each of the opposing side walls and has an outlet directed into the product path. A shroud extends over the side wall assemblies and an open top space between the side all assemblies. The side wall assemblies extend upwardly toward an inside of the shroud so as to define a small gap between tops of the side wall assemblies and the inside of the shroud. The shroud has a bottom wall. A conveyor is configured to convey items through the heat shrink tunnel. A tunnel includes a side wall assembly width adjusting assembly to move the side walls toward and away from one another by actuation of a single actuator.
