Abstract: An apparatus for attaching a shrinkable label on a product placed on a conveyor, by irradiating light onto the shrinkable label, comprises two sets of light emitters which are arranged opposite each other on both sides of the conveyor along a defined length of the conveyor to form an irradiation volume through which the conveyor passes. The light emitters are configured to emit directed light bundles into the irradiation volume in different directions. The intersection points of the directions of the light bundles emitted from the light emitters on a same side of the conveyor with the longitudinal central axis of the conveyor differ from each other.

Abstract: A packaged unit includes a cluster of products and a shrink film that secures the products to each other. The shrink film is wrapped around the cluster, thereby forming a lateral opening that would otherwise result in a shrink eye.
