摘要: Disclosed herein is a sintered ceramic body comprising from 90% to 99.9% by volume of polycrystalline yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) as measured using XRD and image processing methods and a volumetric porosity of from 0.1 to 4% as calculated from density measurements performed in accordance with ASTM B962-17. The sintered ceramic body may have a total purity of 99.99% and greater and a grain size of from 0.3 to 8 μm. A method of making the sintered ceramic body is also disclosed.

摘要: A method includes molding a raw material powder containing a ceramic powder and a thermoplastic resin having a glass transition temperature higher than room temperature into a shape by isostatic pressing and in which a raw material powder slurry is prepared by adding the ceramic powder and the thermoplastic resin to a solvent so that the thermoplastic resin is 2% by weight or more and 40% by weight or less with respect to a total weight of the ceramic powder and the thermoplastic resin, a cast-molded body is to formed by wet-casting the raw material powder slurry into a shape, dried, and subjected to first-stage isostatic press molding at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic resin, then this first-stage press-molded body is heated to the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic resin or above, and warm isostatic press (WIP) molding is performed.

A method for producing a ceramic complex, including: preparing a molded body containing rare earth aluminum garnet fluorescent material, aluminum oxide, and lutetium oxide, and having a content of the rare earth aluminum garnet fluorescent material in a range of 15% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, and a content of the lutetium oxide in a range of 0.2% by mass or more and 4.5% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the rare earth aluminum garnet fluorescent material, the aluminum oxide, and the lutetium oxide; and calcining the molded body in an air atmosphere to provide a ceramic complex having a relative density in a range of 90% or more and less than 100%.

摘要: A method for fabricating a composite useful in a white light emitting device, includes mixing a phosphor and a filler to form a mixture; sintering the mixture (e.g., using spark plasma sintering) to form a composite; and annealing the composite to reduce oxygen vacancies and improve optical properties of the composite. Also disclosed is a white light emitting device including a laser diode or light emitting diode optically pumping the phosphor in the composite to produce white light. The composite fabricated using the method (and having. e.g., at most 50% phosphor by weight) can (1) reduce an operating temperature of the phosphor by 55 degrees, (2) increase an external quantum efficiency (e.g., by at least 15%) of the white light emitting device, and (3) result in color points and quality of the white light that is equal to or improved, as compared to without the filler.
