摘要: A laminate including a vertically oriented liquid crystal cured film and a horizontally oriented phase difference film is provided. The vertically oriented liquid crystal cured film is a cured product of a polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing a polymerizable liquid crystal compound and a dichroic coloring matter. The composition includes, as the dichroic coloring matter, at least one type of dichroic coloring matter having maximum absorption between a wavelength of 400 nm and a wavelength of 750 nm. The vertically oriented liquid crystal cured film is a cured product of the polymerizable liquid crystal composition that is cured in a state in which the polymerizable liquid crystal compound is oriented in a vertical direction with respect to a flat plane of the liquid crystal cured film, and satisfies the following formula (1) and the following formula (2):

摘要: A light absorption anisotropic film, an optical film, and a liquid crystal display device, with less defects and a high alignment degree even when the concentration of a dichroic substance is increased. The light absorption anisotropic film is formed of a liquid crystal composition containing a liquid crystal compound, a dichroic substance represented by Formula (C-1), a dichroic substance represented by Formula (C-2), in which a total content of the dichroic substances represented by Formula (C-1) and Formula (C-2) is 4.5% by mass or greater with respect to a total mass of a solid content of the liquid crystal composition, and the liquid crystal compound is vertically aligned. When Ra1 and Ra2 represent the same group, —N(Rb11)(Rb12) and —N(Rb21)(Rb22) are groups different from each other. When Ra1 and Ra2 represent different groups, —N(Rb11)(Rb12) and —N(Rb21)(Rb22) may be groups that are the same as or different from each other.

摘要: The disclosure provides a liquid crystal device including a liquid crystal composition containing a dichroic dye (dye-containing liquid crystal composition) that is in a light transmissive state when no voltage is applied to the transparent electrode and in a light scattering state when voltage is applied. The liquid crystal composition exhibits a negative dielectric constant anisotropy. The haze value of the liquid crystal device is 10% or less when no voltage is applied at 25° C., and the haze value is 50% or more when a rectangular wave voltage (AC 50 V, 60 Hz) is applied. The voltage holding ratio of the dye-containing liquid crystal composition is 60% or less at 25° C. The liquid crystal device provided by the disclosure is used as a component to provide a liquid crystal display apparatus, a light control apparatus, or a light transmitting apparatus with a high contrast.

In Formula (N-1), RB11 and RB12 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and RB13 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, or a cyano group. Here, in a case where RB11 and RB12 represent a substituent, RB11 and RB12 may be linked to each other to form a ring.
