摘要： Carbon nanotube threads are coated with a coating solution such as dimethylformamide (DMF), ethylene glycol (EG), polyethylene glycol (PEG), PEG200 (PEG with an average molecular weight of approximately 200 grams per mole (g/mol)), PEG400 (PEG with an average molecular weight of approximately 400 g/mol), aminopropyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane (DMS 100 cP),polymide, poly(methylhydrosiloxane), polyalkylene glycol, (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane, hydride functional siloxane O resin, platinum (0) -1,3-divinyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-disiloxane, moisture in air, acetic acid, water, poly(dimethylsiloxane) hydroxy terminated, (3-glycidyloxypropyl)-trimethoxysilane or a combination thereof. The coated carbon nanotubes may be used to stitch in a Z-direction into a composite such as a polymer prepreg to strengthen the composite. The stitching may occur using a sewing machine.

摘要： A sewing machine includes an arm portion, a thread spool mounting portion, a bobbin winder, a first guide portion, a second guide portion, and a partition wall member. The arm portion is provided with a drive shaft extending in a first direction. The thread spool mounting portion includes a thread spool pin to be inserted through a through hole of a thread spool. The bobbin winder is provided further to one end side of the arm portion than the thread spool mounting portion. The first guide portion is provided further to another end side of the arm portion than the thread spool mounting portion. The second guide portion is provided further to another end side in the first direction of the arm portion than the first guide portion. The partition wall member is disposed between the thread spool pin and the first guide portion in a second direction.

Thus, the connection member and the spool pin are attached together to the thread stand plate with the connection member attached to the mounting portion of the thread stand plate via the fitting portion and the spool pin fitted at the one end portion to the cylindrical portion. The supporting section has a shape adapted to support predetermined portions of thread spools of at least two types having different configurations.

摘要： The present invention provides an embroidering machine which is made up of a thread station at which a plurality of spools of different colored threads are installed; a frame on which a work-piece is carried in tension mode; an embroidery stitching mechanism having a plurality of needles to which the colored threads are routed, respectively, and stitching the work-piece with the colored thread routed to a selected needle; a color recognizing device for recognizing the color of each of the threads routed to the respective needles; data reading means for reading embroidering data relating to the embroidering pattern; a comparing device matching a color indication included in the embroidering data with the color of each of the threads which is recognized by the color recognizing device, the comparing device selecting one of the threads to which the thread of the matched color is routed for determining the selected needle; and a control device for controlling the selected needle of the embroidery stitching mechanism and the frame to produce an embroidering pattern on the work-piece with the matched color thread. The color recognizing device includes an emitting portion from which a beam of light is emitted to the corresponding thread, a receiving a reflection beam of light reflected from the thread, and a light shielding device provided between the emitting portion and the receiving portion for the prevention of an entrance of light into the receiving portion except for the reflection beam of light.

摘要： An improved thread conditioning device for use as an accessory to conventional sewing machines. Included are a rectangular baseplate with a pair of upstanding projections. One of the projections near the rear portion of the plate extends upwardly and at its extremity has two essentially right angle bands so as to adapt it for swivelably supporting a small platform having two parallel major surfaces on one of which there is fixed a specially shaped adapter having a plurality of different sized cylindrical recesses for receiving any one of a corresponding plurality of different diameter supports. On the other major surface there is affixed a conditioning pad with a pair of thread guides to guide thread into contact with and past an exposed surface of the conditioning pad for use in tensioning and/or lubricating thread. Optimally included are an additional spool holder mounted on a turn-table and a lubricant reservoir for supplying lubricant to the pad.

摘要： A sewing machine is provided for splicing together two different threads. The machine includes a thread tree with a number of thread spools with each thread thereof being inserted through flexible plastic tubing. A movable carriage assembly locates the new thread to be spliced relative to a splicing device passageway that receives the new thread to be spliced along with the old thread. The splicing device includes a front air inlet for drawing the new thread into the passageway of the splicing device and a rear air inlet for creating air turbulence during the splicing operation. Also used in moving the new thread through the passageway is an insertion drive roller connected to a pivotal rocker. A thread clamp cover connected to the rocker cooperates with the trimmer blades to trim the old thread. A thread clamp and a thread clamp magnet cooperate to hold the old thread in a desired position during the insertion of the new thread into the splicing device. A tensioning assembly is able to adjust new thread tension based on a desired tension for the new thread.
