    摘要: A skylight assembly, having framing members that define an interior space and rafters that span the interior space between framing members, for supporting panes of glass, each pane having at least one structural glass panel and a thermal panel. The framing members have an upper support surface and a main gutter. A structural thermal break connected to each framing member provides a lower support surface. The structural glass panels are fully supported by the upper support surface. The thermal panel is supported by the lower support surface, and is sealed to the upper support surface by a spacer, forming an insulating glass unit therewith. The full support of the structural glass, independent of the support of the thermal panel, allows the skylight to be thermally insulated and walkable. Support blocks extending on each rafter have drainage channels that lead to the main gutters in the framing members.

    摘要: A solarium structure (S) is comprised of a vertical wall frame (3); a sloped roof frame (1) mounted thereon. The vertical wall frame (3) includes two mullions (13) and a head (9) joined at the opposed ends with the sides of the upper ends of the mullions (13), the head (9)having a first-mentioned circular-arc surface (143) formed throughout the entire length thereof. The sloped roof frame (1) includes two rafters (17) and a bottom purlin (23) joined at the opposed ends with the sides of the lower ends of the rafters (17), the bottom purlin (23) having a second-mentioned circular-arc surface (163) formed throughout the entire length thereof. The lower ends of the rafters (17) are mitered to the upper ends of mullions (13). The bottom purlin (23)is placed on the head (9) with the second-mentioned circular-arc surface (163) of the former coming into surface-to-surface engagement with the first-mentioned circular-arc surface (143) of the latter so that the head (9) and bottom purlin (23) can be angularly adjusted to each other and so that draft and light can be prevented from passing between the sloped roof frame (1) and the vertical wall frame (3). The solarium structure (S) further includes means (183) for joining the lower ends of the rafters (17) and the upper ends of the mullions (13) so as to be angularly adjusted to each other.

    摘要: A modular construction for solariums and like structures, provides prefabricated glazed panels and interlocking joint assemblies which are easily assembled in the field without need for tools or other equipment. The panels are used for the construction of walls and ceilings, and are formed of a transparent sheet (preferably double pane glass, for its superior thermal efficiency) with a peripheral frame. The frame and joint material is preferably ultra high density polyvinyl chloride plastic material, although other materials may be used. A steel plate may be installed within the joints for additional structural strength. The construction places the transparent panels substantially adjacent the outer edges of the frame members and joints to reduce the likelihood of protruding panel edges serving as traps for water and/or debris. Preferably, the frame members are formed as hollow extrusions with plural longitudinal cavities therein, both to reduce weight and also to provide conduits for electrical wiring and/or plumbing, if desired.

    摘要: A framing system is provided for supporting glazing elements on a substrate, such as a building framework or an existing glazing system. The framing system includes a plurality of frames surrounding and supporting respective glazing elements. A plurality of frame members are joined to form sides of each frame. Each frame member includes a rabbet for receiving the glazing element having a pair of spaced sides and a base connecting said spaced sides, and a flange extending outwardly from the rabbet base. Flanges of frame members overlap with flanges of adjacent frame members of adjacent frames. Fasteners extend through the flanges for attaching the framing system to the substrate.
