    摘要: A clutch assembly includes a first clutch in the form of a dynamically controllable clutch (DCC) and a second clutch in the form of an electrically actuated Controllable Mechanical Diode (“CMD”) clutch. The DCC and the CMD clutch each have a pocket plate and share a notch plate. The DCC pocket plate and the shared notch plate are supported for rotation in first and second directions about a rotational axis. The pocket plate of the CMD clutch is fixed in position. The DCC includes a translator to move a DCC locking element to a deployed position mechanically coupling the DCC pocket plate and the shared notch plate. The CMD clutch includes first and second actuators configured to move the first and second locking elements of the CMD clutch to a deployed position mechanically coupling the shared notch plate to the pocket plate of the CMD clutch.

    摘要: A wheel end disconnect system includes an inner race connected to one of an axle half shaft and a wheel hub, an outer race connected to the other of the axle half shaft and the wheel hub, and a plurality of radially actuatable pawls, circumferentially spaced apart, oriented between the inner and outer races, and movable between an outboard locked position and an inboard unlocked position to connect and disconnect the wheel hub from the axle half shaft. The system further includes a plurality of pins attached to an actuator ring. The actuator ring is axially shifi-able between a locked and unlocked position. The system also includes one or more permanent magnets forming a permanent magnet ring attached to the actuator ring, with axially spaced apart north and south poles, and an annular tri-pole electromagnet having two counter-wound axially spaced apart coils concentric with the annular permanent magnet.

    摘要: A wedge clutch selectively locks an outer race to an inner race to transfer torque therebetween. The inner race includes a first plurality of tapered surfaces, tapered in a first direction about an axis. The inner race includes a second plurality of tapered surfaces, tapered in an opposite second direction about the axis. At least two wedge plates are provided, each having a plurality of segments with a tapered inner surface disposed on a respective one of the first or second plurality of tapered surfaces of the inner race. The tapered inner surfaces of the wedge plates are tapered in opposite directions. An electromagnetic actuator is provided for each of the wedge plates. Electrically energizing one of the actuators constricts that respective wedge plate, unwedging the wedge plate from between the inner race and outer race and to no longer inhibit relative rotation therebetween.

    摘要: A one-way clutch includes a first clutch member, a second clutch member disposed coaxially with the first clutch member for rotation relative to the first clutch member, and an electromagnetic actuator assembly. The assembly is supported on one of the clutch members and configured to engage the other of the clutch members. The assembly includes a core, a coil disposed therearound, and a magnetic armature having an aperture therethrough. The armature is pivotable toward a longitudinal end of the core by energization of the coil from a de-energized position to an energized position such that the end of the core resides in the aperture in at least one of the positions.

    摘要: A disconnect clutch includes a wedge carrier, a wedge plate, an inner hub and a latching diaphragm spring. The wedge carrier has a pair of inwardly facing tapered rings. The wedge plate has a pair of outwardly facing tapered ring portions for mating engagement with the wedge carrier inwardly facing tapered rings, a plurality of inner ramp portions with respective tapered inner surfaces, and a radially flexible middle portion connecting the outwardly tapered ring portions and plurality of inner ramp portions. The inner hub has a plurality of outer ramp portions with tapered outer surfaces for engagement with the plurality of wedge plate ramp portion tapered inner surfaces. The latching diaphragm spring is for displacing the inner hub relative to the wedge carrier to radially expand the wedge plate.

The device aims to provide an electromagnetic driving device able to operate and serve the function of driving even if a power supply system of an electromagnetic clutch malfunctions or a sudden power cut occurs, avoiding the series of adverse effects caused by the failure of the electromagnetic clutch.
