    摘要: A method of fire control against aerial targets traveling towards an object of protection. A position of the object of protection is known. A position of the aerial target is measured. The position of the aerial target is estimated. A velocity of the aerial target is estimated. A model of a guidance law of the aerial target is applied. An acceleration of the aerial target sufficient to hit the object of protection is calculated. A future trajectory of the aerial target is predicted based on the position of the object of protection, the estimated position of the aerial target, the estimated velocity of the aerial target, and the calculated acceleration of the aerial target. Points of aim along the predicted future trajectory are calculated. A fire control system includes at least one sensor for measuring the position of the aerial target as a function of time.

    摘要: A projectile tracking system for acquiring and precisely tracking a projectile in flight in order to reveal the source from which the projectile was fired. The source is revealed by the back projection of a 3-dimensional track file. In preferred embodiments the system is installed on a vehicle, such as an un-manned blimp or other aircraft, road vehicle or ship, for locating and destroying small arms fire directed at the vehicle. A kill system may also be included on the vehicle to destroy the source of the projectile.

    摘要: A method is described of preventing weapon fire during operation of a self-contained gimbaled weapon system (GWS). The GWS has a sighting system, a weapon and a weapon cradle. The the weapon cradle is elevated by an operator using a first elevation drive and moved in azimuth using an azimuth drive. In the method, the sighting system is moved using a second elevation drive and the azimuth drive to acquire a target based on signals received from a first operator interface and display unit located remotely from the GWS. The method further involves observing target information received from the first operator interface and display unit using a second operator interface and display unit, and overriding operator control of the weapon based on the observation of the second operator interface and display unit to prevent weapon fire for a controlled time interval.

    摘要: A device for the selective detection of objects, such as aircraft, missiles, helicopters and the like, by detecting outgoing rays emitted from the objects, preferably infrared rays, comprises at least one sensor unit with two optical entrances arranged at a distance relative to each other across a sight line from the device to the object. The sensor unit includes at least one focusing arrangement for focusing the rays onto a focal plane. The sensor unit includes at least one radiation sensitive detector element arranged to emit signals corresponding to the amount of radiation. The device is arranged to variably scan an angular field in azimuth and/or elevation. The device further includes an evaluation unit arranged to receive the signals. The evaluation unit is arranged to select objects which seem to be of similar size with respect to the angle measured from the position of the device, on the one hand large objects being at a long distance, such as aircraft, and on the other hand small objects being at a short distance, such as birds, by suppressing signals whose amplitude is a function of the scanned azimuth or elevation angle showing a relatively large size compared with signals showing a relatively small size.

    摘要: A precision weapon aiming system used in conjunction with an optical radar for a weapon includes a pattern projector mounted to direct preselected optical pulses along the boresight of the weapon. A boresight receiver in the optical radar generates quadrature signals in response to radar returns reflected from the target. The azimuth and elevation of the weapon is varied until the magnitude of the quadrature signals are equal, thereby aligning the weapon boresight on the target.
