    摘要: A thermocouple ribbon features a pair of flat conductors and first and second layers of a polyimide film covering the conductors. The polyimide film preferably is coated with a fluoropolymer, such as fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP). During manufacture of the thermocouple ribbon, the first and second layers of polyimide film, with the pair of flat conductors positioned there between, are heated above the melting temperature of the FEP. The completed thermocouple ribbon is then cooled. A thermocouple connector may then be attached to a first end of the thermocouple ribbon, while a welded thermocouple junction may be formed at a second end of the thermocouple ribbon.

    摘要: A connector and compensating terminal apparatus for use with temperature responsive instruments is adapted to accommodate sensing devices such as thermocouples and RTDs having a wide plurality of lead connectors. The apparatus includes a temperature compensating block assembly having first and second conductive blocks coupled together at opposing surfaces by means of a thermally conductive and electrically insulative material, a corresponding surface of each block is adapted to receive one lead of a thermocouple sensor or RTD which lead is held in contact on the surface of the block by a holding block having a corrugated holding surface and which holding block is movably mounted with respect to the conductive block to provide a variable spacing to enable the apparatus to accommodate the different types of thermocouple or RTD lead connectors. Additionally, there are two outside conducting blocks for two of the 3 or 4 RTD leads which leads are also held in place by the respective holding blocks.

The system is microprocessor based and automatically compensates for errors from such elements as cable resistance, drift and aging of the signal conditioning electronics. The system converts a non-linear electrical signal from a probe directly to a temperature indication in degrees Celcius. In the preferred embodiment, there is employed a multiplicity of probes and the system provides for automatically scanning of the probes and computation of the temperature for each.

    摘要: To measure temperature in an electromagnetic field a thermocouple is connected to a meter. The temperature to be measured is sensed and converted into a D.C. voltage by the thermocouple. This D.C. voltage causes the meter to indicate the temperature. To prevent error due to electromagnetically coupled energy heating the thermocouple and/or producing a high frequency current which is conducted to the meter circuit from interfering with the meter readings, a physically small thermocouple with semiconductor leads or a semiconductor thermocouple having semiconductor leads is provided.

    摘要: A temperature input unit includes a disconnection detection circuit that measures a temperature of a measurement target with at least one of a thermocouple or a temperature measurement resistor and feeds a disconnection detection current for disconnection detection to the thermocouple and a compensating wire connected to the thermocouple. A controller controls, before measuring the temperature of the measurement target with the thermocouple, a terminal switch and an input circuit switch to connect the compensating wire to a temperature measurement resistor input circuit and an A/D converter, and calculates a predicted value of a voltage drop resulting from resistance of the compensating wire occurring in response to the disconnection detection current. The controller controls the terminal switch and the input circuit switch to connect the compensating wire to a thermocouple input circuit and the A/D converter, and subtracts the predicted value from a measured value of the thermoelectromotive force detected by the thermocouple input circuit to calculate a corrected measured value of the thermoelectromotive force.

    摘要: Various embodiments include an electronic circuit for driving a thermocouple element comprising: contact electrodes for connecting cold-end electrodes of the thermocouple element; and a measurement circuit to measure a thermo-voltage generated by the thermocouple element. One of the electrodes is connected to a supply voltage and a ground potential over a voltage divider having resistors with pre-defined resistance values such that a common mode voltage between the contact electrode and the ground potential is in a pre-defined range. If a leakage resistance effective between the contact electrode and the ground potential is greater than a pre-defined threshold, a processor compares the common mode voltage to the pre-defined range and generates a calibration value for the measurement circuitry if the common mode voltage is outside the range.
