摘要: The present disclosure relates to an image reading device having a highly-accurate structure that enables an easy increase in depth of field, that is, improvement in the depth of the field, without need for a change in basic characteristics of lenses. An overlap preventer (5) disposed between a lens array (1) and a sensor element array (3) to prevent overlap of images formed by lenses (2) is included. A slit section (5) that is the overlap preventer (5) includes multiple slit plates (7) arranged in a main scanning direction and extending in a sub-scanning direction to partition off a space, and the slit plates (7) are fixed to fixing plates (13).

The plurality of condenser lenses, the second light-shielding member, the first light-shielding member, and the plurality of light-receiving pixels are disposed at positions at which reflected light sequentially passes through one of the condenser lenses corresponding to each light-receiving pixel, one of the second openings corresponding to the each light-receiving pixel, and one of the first openings corresponding to the each light-receiving pixel and enters the each light-receiving pixel.

摘要: An optical line sensor 1 includes an illumination unit 2, a light receiving unit 3, and a pair of holding members 4 separably attached to the light receiving unit 3 at both ends in a main scanning direction. The illumination unit 2 includes fitting portions (protrusions 25) at both ends in the main scanning direction. Each of the holding members 4 includes a fitted portion (hole 41). In a state where the fitting portion and the fitted portion are fitted, the illumination unit 2 is positioned so that the irradiation optical axis of light emitted from the illumination unit 2 overlaps the light receiving optical axis at a position substantially coinciding with a reading line of the light receiving unit 3 and is integrally held with the light receiving unit 3.

摘要: An image reading apparatus includes a light source to emit at least light in a first wavelength range and light in a second wavelength range, a background member having different light reflectances in the first and second wavelength ranges, an imaging device, and circuitry. The imaging device receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the first wavelength range, and generates first read information. The imaging device further receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the second wavelength range, and generates second read information. The circuitry detects presence or absence of a first foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the first read information generated by the imaging device; and detect presence or absence of a second foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the second read information generated by the imaging device.
