The present invention relates to a method for controlling a laundry treatment machine (1) comprising an outer casing (2), a washing group which is placed inside the outer casing (2) and comprises, in turn, a rotatable drum (6) structured for housing the laundry to be treated, an electric motor (16) for rotating the drum (6); the method comprises the steps of: controlling the electric motor (16) to cause the drum (6) to change its rotational speed according to a prefixed reference speed profile comprising at least an acceleration ramp (Ra(i)), wherein the drum (6) is accelerated from a low speed (B1) to a prefixed high speed (B2) and at least a constant speed phase (S(k)) wherein the drum speed is maintained about the high speed (B2), sampling first torque values (Ti) generated by the electric motor (16) during the acceleration ramp (Ra(i)) according to a prefixed first sample time (Δta), sampling second torque values (Tj) generated by the electric motor (16) during the constant speed phase (S(k)) according to a prefixed second sample time (Δtb), calculating a third value (TU), which is indicative of an average torque value based on said second torque values (Tj), determining a fourth value by performing an approximate integral calculus consisting of subtracting said third value (TU) from said first torque values (Ti), and determining the amount of laundry load (QL) on the basis of said fourth torque value (Torque_int).

The present invention relates to a method to control a washing machine, the washing machine including a tub and a drum, the drum being rotatably mounted inside the tub and apt to contain laundry to be washed, the method comprising : - setting a washing cycle among a plurality of washing cycles; - calculating a first weight of the laundry in the drum before water is supplied to the drum and/or tub; - comparing the first weight to a first threshold; - calculating a first duration of the set washing cycle on the basis of said first weight; - displaying said first duration; - if said first weight is above the first threshold, then the method further includes : i. introducing water into the tub; ii. calculating a second weight of the laundry present into the drum; iii. calculating a second duration of the set washing cycle on the basis of said second weight; iv. displaying said second duration; - and, if said first weight is below or equal to the first threshold, then the method further includes: i. gradually updating said first duration while executing said washing cycle, without calculating the second duration.

The present invention relates to a method for washing laundry during a washing cycle in a laundry washing machine (1) comprising a washing drum (4); a washing tub (3) external to the washing drum (4); a water supply unit (5) to supply water (W) into the washing tub (3); an automatic dosing device (58) comprising a compartment suitable for receiving a quantity of detergent (D) sufficient for a plurality of washing cycles; a recirculation circuit (30) and a concentration sensor device (80). The invention relates to a laundry treatment apparatus (2), in particular laundry dryer, washing machine or washer dryer, the laundry treatment apparatus comprising: a casing (3), a laundry storing compartment (17) arranged within the casing (3) for receiving laundry to be treated, a contactless laundry water content sensor (200) adapted to detect the amount of water contained in the laundry stored in the storing compartment (17), and a control unit for controlling the operation of the laundry treatment apparatus (2) and adapted to receive a signal from the laundry water content sensor (200). According to the invention, the control unit is either adapted to select or adjust one or more of the following parameters in dependency of the laundry water content sensor signal: estimated time to cycle end, drying air flow rate, drum rotation speed (tumbling or spinning), heat pump compressor operation parameters (speed, temporal profile), heating power, and/or self- cleaning operation. Preferably the control unit is adapted to receive a signal from a load detector (220), and wherein the control unit is adapted to process the signals from the load detector (220) and the laundry water content sensor (200) for determining a secondary parameter, which is depending on the load detector signal and the water content sensor signal and which is used by the control unit for controlling a drying and/or spinning operation of the laundry treatment apparatus (2).
