Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of assigning a print job to a print job queue of a printer, the method comprising the steps of displaying an overview of print job queue representations on a user interface system, each print job queue representation suitable for showing image items representing print jobs in a print job queue dedicated to a printer of a plurality of printers, selecting a first image item of the overview of print job representation, the image item representing a first print job residing in a first print job queue of which a print job queue representation is displayed in the overview, the first print job queue dedicated to a first printer of the plurality, dragging the first image item to a second print job queue representation displayed in the overview, the second print job queue representation representing a second print job queue dedicated to a second printer of the plurality, dropping the first image item on the second print job queue representation displayed in the overview, removing the first print job from the first print job queue, adding the first print job to the second print job queue, and placing the first image item in the second print job queue representation, wherein the method comprises the step of during dragging of the first image item and before dropping of the first image item providing visual feedback of the impact of at least one of the steps according to the method. The invention also relates to a print fleet system configured to apply the method according to the invention.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a user interaction system comprising a control means for controlling digital objects characterized by a first content level, each said digital object comprising at least one digital object characterized by a second content level, and a display means for displaying the digital objects by means of thumbnail images, said display means arranged to show under control of the control means a first scrollable list of at least one selectable thumbnail image each of which is representing a digital object characterized by of a first content level on the display means, and a second scrollable list of at least one selectable thumbnail image each of which is representing a digital object characterized by a second content level on the display means, wherein the control means is configured to show the first list on the display means and to show, upon selection of a thumbnail image of the first list, simultaneously with the first list, the second list corresponding to the at least one digital object characterized by the second content level comprised in the digital object characterized by the first content level corresponding to the selected thumbnail image.
Abstract:
A user interface for at least one media processing apparatus (10), the user interface having a display device (18) connected to an apparatus control system (12) and arranged to visualize timings of events (40, 42) occurring or expected to occur in a processing sequence of the apparatus, the timings being visualized by showing an indication of each event on a timeline (24, 26, 28) that has a certain time scale (38) and a certain zero point (36), wherein the timeline (24, 26, 28) has at least two sections (30, 32) which differ in the time scale (38) and/or the zero point (36).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for processing print jobs by an image-processing apparatus comprising an output module for receiving output of the print jobs and a control unit configured to maintain a queue of print jobs to be processed, said method comprising for each print job the steps of printing the print job by the image-processing apparatus, and stacking output of the print job in the output module, characterized in that the control unit is configured to maintain an output check list and the method further comprises the step of, when a recoverable error occurs during processing of the print job, that does not lead to an automatic stop of the processing but is likely to cause faulted pages in the printed output, automatically creating an entry in the output check list, so as to advise an operator to check the possibly faulted pages in the output stack. The invention also relates to an image-processing apparatus for printing print jobs, said image-processing apparatus comprising an output module for receiving output of print jobs, a control unit configured to maintain a queue of print jobs to be processed, and detecting means for detecting recoverable errors of print jobs characterized in that the control unit is configured to maintain an output check list comprising entries each of which is automatically created when a recoverable error occurs during processing of the print job, that does not lead to an automatic stop of the processing but is likely to cause faulted pages in the printed output, so as to advise an operator on the possibly faulted pages in the output stack.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a print fleet system comprising a plurality of printer instances which have a same set of at least one system setting, a registration system for registering print jobs in combination with system settings of the same set of at least one system setting of the plurality of printer instances, and an advice system for generating an advice for an operator, and a user interface system for displaying the advice, wherein the registration system comprises a value change made to the set of at least one system setting of a printer instance out of the plurality of printer instances before printing a print job on the print engine, the advice system is configured to generate an advice related to the same print job intended to be printed on another printer instance out of the plurality of printer instances, the advice concerning the change comprised in the registration system, and the advice system is configured to transmit signals representing the advice to the user interface screen for display in order to advice the operator before printing the same print job on the other printer instance. The invention also relates to a method to be applied by the print fleet system according to the invention.
Abstract:
The invention relates to displaying a digital image having a high aspect ratio on a user interface screen connected to a control unit of a printing system, by determining a first part of the digital image which part comprises one end of the digital image in a longitudinal direction, determining a second part of the digital image which part comprises the other end of the digital image in the longitudinal direction, displaying the first part and the second part simultaneously on the user interface screen, and further displaying the remaining part of the digital image in a compressed manner between the first part and the second part or suppressing display of the remaining part on the user interface screen.
