A method of cementing in a subterranean formation comprises: introducing the transition fluid into the subterranean formation; and introducing a cement composition into the subterranean formation, wherein the step of introducing the cement composition is performed after the step of introducing the transition fluid and wherein the cement composition comprises cement and water.

A grout for ground that simultaneously satisfies the mutually conflicting property requirements of when injected in a ground under pressure, not infiltrating in soil grain interstices, and while maintaining fluidity in the ground as well, not departing outside a given range through fractures and forming lumps at a given position, and not only effecting growth to lumps by grout liquid per se as large as possible but also during the period up to attainment of solidification, pushing away surrounding soil grains to thereby increase the density of peripheral soil and sand; and a relevant method of ground reinforcement. There is provided a plastic gel grout injected under pressure through an injection hole disposed in a ground and tending to with time or by dehydration, lose fluidity and form lumps, which plastic gel grout comprises, as active components, components (1) and (3) or components (1), (2) and (3) as follows: (1) silica based non-hardening powdery material (material F), (2) calcium based powdery hardening material (material C), and (3) water (material W). Further, there is provided a method of ground reinforcement using the plastic gel grout.

A cement composition for use in an oil or gas well, the cement composition comprises: a calcium aluminate cement; water; an organic acid; and a polymeric mixture comprising: (A) water; (B) citric acid; (C) a first polymer, wherein the first polymer: (i) comprises a cellulose backbone and carboxymethyl functional groups; and (ii) has a molecular weight of less than 100,000; and (D) a second polymer, wherein the second polymer: (i) comprises a lignosulfonate; and (ii) has a molecular weight of less than 100,000, wherein a test composition consisting essentially of: the cement; the water; the organic acid; and the polymeric mixture, and in the same proportions as in the cement composition has a thickening time of at least 5 hours at a temperature of 300°F (148.9°C) and a pressure of 10,000 psi (68.9 MPa).
