    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may determine a first sidelink pathloss based at least in part on a first sidelink reference signal from a second UE. The first UE may also determine a second sidelink pathloss based at least in part on a second sidelink reference signal received from a third UE. The first UE may transmit, during a transmission time interval, a first sidelink transmission to the second UE using a first transmit power that is based at least in part on the first sidelink pathloss and a second sidelink transmission to the third UE using a second transmit power that is based at least in part on the second sidelink pathloss. The first sidelink transmission may be transmitted at a first frequency and the second sidelink transmission may be transmitted at a second frequency.

Example techniques include adjusting the size of messages transmitted by an endpoint device and/or adjusting the transmission rate of an endpoint device. In some configurations, the one or more criteria are used by an endpoint device to determine what data fields to include within a message and/or adjust a transmission rate associated with the transmission of messages by the endpoint device. For instance, the one or more criteria may include the battery level of the device, the time of year, whether the data has already been transmitted by the endpoint device, whether the data has been acknowledged as received by another device, whether the endpoint device has been instructed by another device to reduce the message size and/or adjust the transmission rate, and the like.

    Abstract: Aspects relate to mechanisms for a wireless communication device to generate a superposition transmission of a sidelink signal to be transmitted to at least one receiving wireless communication device and an uplink signal to be transmitted to a base station. The wireless communication device may transmit the superposition transmission on resources allocated by the base station on a common carrier utilized for both sidelink and uplink transmissions. The superposition transmission includes a base layer corresponding to the uplink signal and an enhanced layer corresponding to the sidelink signal. The wireless communication device may further generate and transmit interference assistance information to the receiving wireless communication device for use by the receiving wireless communication device in canceling the base layer from the superposition transmission.

A first user equipment (UE) may determine that a second UE is to transmit a control channel message retransmission using a first subchannel of a sidelink control channel during a subframe. The first UE may determine that the first UE is to transmit a sidelink transmission using a second subchannel of the sidelink control channel during the subframe, the second subchannel being different from the first subchannel. The first UE may transmit, by the first UE and during the subframe, the control channel message retransmission of the second UE using the first subchannel and the sidelink transmission of the first UE using the second subchannel.
