Abstract:
The present invention relates to beverage products, in particular a liquid non-dairy creamer composition having a texture similar to a sweetened condensed milk or yogurt-like. The composition comprises oil in the range of 10-16 wt/wt%; caseinate salts in the range of 1.5 to 2.2 wt/wt%; mono-/diglycerides in the range of 0.13 to 0.3 wt/wt%; tartaric acid esters of monoglycerides in the range of 0.4 to 0.8 wt/wt%; kappa-carrageenan in the range of 0.06 to 0.09 wt/wt%; iota-carrageenan in the range of 0.05 to 0.11 wt/wt%; and guar gum in the range of 0.1 to 0.4 wt/wt%.
Abstract:
The object of the invention relates to a filled filter bag (10) which comprises a liquid-permeable filter wall (14) delimiting a closed internal space (12) and suitable for retaining a filling (24) in the internal space (12), the essence of which is that the closed internal space (12) of the filter bag (10) contains frozen filler medium (22) and frozen filling (24) embedded in it, which frozen filler medium (22) has a porous structure. The object of the invention also relates to a method for the production of such a filled filter bag (10).
Abstract:
There is provided an iron-fortified tea preparation comprising dried tea; and a mixture of a chelator and iron adhered to the dried tea, optionally with an adhesive, the molar ratio of chelator:iron in the mixture being about 2:1 or greater. The iron-fortified tea preparation may be used to brew tea, may be mixed with unfortified tea prior to brewing, and may also be used as an additive to food or beverage products.
Abstract:
Described is a product (11) for making, through infusion, a respective drink, in particular a hot drink, especially coffee, the drink being preferably obtained by making the infusion in a respective machine which uses an infusion liquid, which is in particular in the form of water, especially in the form of hot water; the product comprises a raw infusion material (13), preferably in the form of roasted and ground coffee, in a compact configuration, that is, it has the respective constituent particles which adhere to each other. The infusion product (11) extends along an axial direction (L) between opposite longitudinal ends (11a, 11b) and has a peripheral surface (11e), which is convergent towards a respective longitudinal end (11a) in such a way as to engage, and match with, the profile of a corresponding inner surface of a suitable infusion container (12), in particular in the form of an adapter container.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a creamer composition, e.g. for use for addition into a coffee beverage, having good physical stability and mouthfeel even at low fat levels or as a fat free creamer composition. The creamer comprises protein, low molecular weight emulsifier and hydroxypropyl starch. The invention further relates to a method of producing the creamer, a beverage composition comprising the creamer, and a method of producing a beverage composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to products comprising catechins. Products according to the present invention comprise solids from Aspalathus linearis and at least 50 mg catechins, wherein the ratio of solids from Aspalathus linearis to catechins is from 10:1 to 1 :20.
Abstract:
Disclosed isa process comprising the steps of: expressing juice from a first supply of fresh tea leaves thereby to produce leaf residue and tea juice; subjecting the first supply of fresh tea leaves and/or the tea juice to a fermentation step thereby to at least partially ferment the tea juice; andcombining the at least partially fermented tea juice with substantially unfermented tea material.
Abstract:
A system and method for brewing beverages utilizing inertial separation and an adjustable-volume brewing chamber to selectively retain or release particulate matter, oils, and/or other components of the brewed beverage, whereby mechanical filtration may be avoided and smaller particulates may be separated from the beverage. Thus, less material is needed to achieve similar levels of infusion and brewing time may be reduced.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of Honeybush or Honeybush extract in combination with at least one prebiotic for improving skin or hair health by preventing, alleviating or treating skin or hair disorders or damages such as is effected by inflammatory reactions, environmental factors, ageing or cancer. It can also be used to improve UV protection or skin glow or reduce skin wrinkles or skin inflammation. It also relates to the compositions containing Honeybush or Honeybush extracts and at least one prebiotic.
