Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of D-pantothenic acid and/or salts thereof or feedstuffs additives comprising these by fermentation of microorganisms of the Enterobacteriaceae family, in particular those which already produce D-pantothenic acid, in which the nucleotide sequence(s) in the microorganisms which code(s) for the mdh gene is/are enhanced, in particular over-expressed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to improved methods for the biosynthesis of vitamin E. Said methods are characterized by the inhibition of the catabolization of homogentisate to maleylacetoacetate and fumarylacetoacetate and then to fumarate and acetoacetate. The invention also relates to the combination of this inhibition with methods that increase the provision of homogentisate or that promote the conversion of homogentisate to vitamin E. The invention further relates to nucleic acid constructs and vectors, which can be used to implement the inventive methods, in addition to transgenic plant organisms produced from said constructs and vectors.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a food composition comprising, in % by weight of the food composition on dry matter basis, i) nucleotides in an amount of at least about 0.05% and ii) oligosaccharides in an amount of at least about 0.1%, wherein said oligosaccharides are selected from xylo-oligosaccharides (XOS), fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
An instant food composition for animals is reconstitutable by adding water and comprises: a dehydrated vegetable component selected from the group consisting of grains of cereals, grains of quinoa, grains of buckwheat and mixtures thereof, wherein the grains are dehydrated and the outer surface of the grains is at least partially coated with an edible hydrophobic shell; a dehydrated protein component of animal origin; an additional dehydrated vegetable component, other than cereals, quinoa and buckwheat; a dehydrated appetizing component. The composition comprises optionally a functional component. A method for preparing an instant food composition for animals comprises the following steps: mixing a plurality of dehydrated grains of a vegetable component that is selected from the group consisting of cereals, quinoa, buckwheat and mixtures thereof, so as to obtain a mixture; during mixing, spraying an edible hydrophobic composition at a temperature of 40°C onto the mixture; allowing the edible hydrophobic composition to deposit on an outer surface of the grains; allowing the deposited hydrophobic composition to cool down to ambient temperature and solidify on the outer surface of the grains, so as to form an edible hydrophobic shell which at least partially coats the grains; further mixing the grains that are coated with the edible hydrophobic shell with a dehydrated protein component of animal origin, an additional dehydrated vegetable component other than cereals, quinoa and buckwheat, a dehydrated appetizing component and optionally a functional component, so as to obtain the instant food composition for animals.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The disclosed product is an organic commercial 4-0-1 (nitrogen, phosphate, potash) fertilizer or soil mmendment and a feed that can be used as a liquid or dried and used alone or combined with other feeds. Examples of use are feed for black fly larva and all insects, chickens and other foul, all fish, mammals, reptiles, crustaceans; basically, most all living things and microorganisms. This product can be safely used around water because it is suitable as food for fish, reptiles, invertebrates and amphibians.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a feed premix feed premix comprising high amounts of eicosapentaenoic acid ("EPA") and docosahexaenoic acid ("DHA") as feed premix for animals, preferably aquatic animals including fish and shrimp. More particular, this invention relates to a feed premix intended for intake by aquatic animals comprising high amounts of EPA and DHA derived from a microbial source and vitamins A, K, D, C, E, cholesterol, phospholipids and arachidonic acid and low amounts of fish oil. The invention further concerns a method of producing a meat product, preferably anaquaculture meat product, by feeding an animal, preferably a fish, a feed composition, said method comprising the step of formulating a feed compositioncomprising DHA, preferably EPA and DHA, derived from a microbial source and vitamins A, K, D, C, E, cholesterol, phospholipids and arachidonic acid and low amounts of fish oil.
