A device for removing a hinge pin includes a body, a slide pin mounted to the body for first sliding movement relative thereto between a neutral and an extended longitudinal position along the body, an impactor coupled to the slide pin for second movement in unison with the first movement, and a biasing member, coupled to both the slide pin and the body, for biasing the slide pin towards the neutral position relative to the body. In operation, while i) the impactor is registered with the hinge pin and is distanced therefrom and ii) the slide pin is moved away from the neutral longitudinal position, releasing the slide pin causes a) the slide pin to move towards the neutral position by the biasing member and b) the impactor to impact the hinge pin.

A multi-signaling hinged safety switch for mobile protection barriers (B) of machines and/or automatic plants, comprises a substantially box-like fixed member (2) designed to be secured to a stationary part (M) of the barrier (B), and having a longitudinal axis (L) and a pair of axial end holes (3, 4), a movable member (5) designed to be secured to a pivotal part (P) of the barrier (B) and having a pair of substantially transverse arms (6, 7) located outside the fixed member (2) and pivoted to the axial end holes (3, 4), electrical detection means (8) located within said box-like member (2) for switching one or more electric safety circuits (S) of the barrier (B) at a predetermined switching angle (α). A pair of cylindrical pins (9, 10) extend in cantilever fashion from the arms (6, 7) and are pivotally inserted in the holes (3, 4). The pins (9, 10) have mutually spaced opposed ends (11, 12) defining a gap (13) with no axial connection member therein. The detection means (8) comprise a pair of detectors (14, 15) each interacting with one end (11, 12) of a respective pin (9, 10) and having a respective switching angle (a, a'). The invention relates to a bracket arrangement (1 ), e.g. for a vehicle hood hinge (22). The bracket arrangement (1 ) comprises a first bracket (2) and a second bracket (3) attached to each other. In a first, locked mode are the brackets (2,3) attached by a first bracket attachment (4) and a second bracket attachment (5). In a second, released mode are the brackets (2,3) pivotable with respect to each other. The change from the first, locked mode to the second, released mode is made by activating a safety release arrangement (6) comprising a housing (7), a piston (8) and an actuator (9) in order to move the piston (8) relative the housing (7). The bracket arrangement is further designed such that the housing (7) is attached to the first bracket (2) by housing attachments (10) such that the housing (7) may move relative said first bracket (2) while still being attached to the first bracket (2). This movement is caused by the safety release arrangement (6). The movement of the housing (7) cause the second bracket attachment (5) to be released such that the bracket arrangement (1 ) changes its mode from the first, locked mode to the second, released mode.
