Abstract:
A sensor bow system is described which generates various types of data representing various movements of and forces exerted upon a sensor bow intended for use with any of a variety of stringed instruments. The sensor bow data may be used to control a wide variety of audio, visual, and other effects.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for optimally allocating an online advertising budget for a search engine marketing (SEM) campaign among a fixed set of keywords.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, and data structures embodied in computer-readable media are provided for facilitating access to a service in a network. Title materials are received which include one or more of a first title object, a component of the first title object, or a reference to the first title object. The first title object is a first digital bearer instrument representing at least one right relating to the service, the first title object including a reference to the service. A second title object is identified with reference to a service registry and the reference to the service included in the first title object. The second title object is a second digital bearer instrument with which redemption of the at least one right relating to the service and represented by the first title object may be effected.
Abstract:
A message transmission system accepts a telephone call from a user who wishes to send an e-mail message, send an SMS message, perform an Internet query or retrieve his or her electronic mail. The voice call is transcribed and the message is sent, or the question in the voice call is transcribed and answered by an agent. Any number of agents connect to a central site over an Internet connection and transcribe messages or answer queries in an assembly line like fashion. In addition, a Web query delivery system accepts a query or statement from a user; the query is transcribed, classified, and then broadcast over any medium to any number of experts or web sites that desire to answer the particular type of query received. The entire query is delivered to an expert or web site who provides a full answer to the user.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for controlling orientation of a probe contact array relative to a wafer contact array on a wafer. The probe contact array is configured on a probe card having first kinematic reference features associated therewith. The wafer is positioned in a wafer prober having an interface with second kinematic features. The first and second kinematic features are together operable to restrain relative motion between the probe card and the wafer prober when the probe card and the interface are docked. The orientation of the probe contact array relative to the wafer contact array is determined. Where the probe contact array is out of alignment with the wafer contact array, a height of at least one of the kinematic reference features is adjusted to bring the probe contact array and the wafer contact array into substantial alignment.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for registering a sports field to a video. Video of a live event may feature participants at a venue. A template of the venue, including virtual markings that represent real markings on the venue, may be obtained. A homographic transformation between an image plane and a ground plane may be determined by matching virtual markings to corresponding real markings captured in at least one frame of the video. The determined homographic transformation may be used in the automated analysis of sports statistics and in improving inserted annotations and visualizations.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and techniques relating to steam trap monitoring are described. These include battery-less steam trap monitors that run on power harvested from their environments, systems for acquiring steam trap monitor data for the traps in a facility or across multiple facilities, and techniques for processing steam trap monitor data to reliably determine the status of individual steam traps and potentially other system parameters.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described by which a rich, time-correlated information set is captured during automated testing of an application in a way that allows the application developer to understand the state of the application under test (AUT), the browser interacting with the AUT, and/or the device interacting with the AUT, as it/they changed over time. Mechanisms or features associated with browsers and/or device operating systems are exploited to capture such information, not only for the purpose of better understanding individual test runs, but also to enable the use of analytics over data sets.
Abstract:
Sensor systems are described that are designed to be integrated with gloves for the human hand. An array of sensors detects forces associated with action of a hand in the glove, and associated circuitry generates corresponding control information that may be used to control a wide variety of processes and devices.
Abstract:
Techniques are described for just-in-time variable adaptive encoding and delivery of media content. Fragments of media content are encoded at bitrates corresponding to available bandwidth of client devices. If the available bandwidth changes, the bitrate at which fragments are being encoded is adjusted to correspond with the changed bandwidth.
