There is described herein methods and systems for generating universal models, normalizing patient features, combining normalized clinical datasets, and predicting patient outcomes from universal models. Clinical datasets may be combined from different institutions, and patient outcomes may be predicted from data collected from institutions not included in the original clinical datasets. One or more medical imaging datasets representing a patient anatomy are acquired. A set of features is extracted from each of medical imaging dataset and normalized to generate one or more normalized datasets. A universal model is then generated from the one or more normalized datasets.

The present disclosure concerns methods and formulations for delivery of hydrophobic agents (such as ubiquinone or poorly soluble drugs) for therapeutic and bioanalytical use. It further concerns use of lipopeptides (e.g. caspofungin) or surfactants to solubilize hydrophobic agents and thus increase their bioavailability. Also described are therapeutic methods for the treatment of conditions that benefit from such hydrophobic agents. The present disclosure further relates to methods of identifying drug candidates for treatment of ubiquinone deficiency.

A position of interaction along a scintillating fiber coil is determined by: detecting a first plurality and second plurality of photons at first and second ends of the scintillating fiber coil; associating the first plurality of photons and the second plurality of photons with the interaction event based on a timing parameter; and determining a position of interaction for the interaction event based on a comparison between a first parameter of the first plurality of photons and a second parameter of the photons in the second plurality of photons.

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for determining heart fiber geometry from ultrasound images. Ultrasound images of a heart model are generated. Then, a probability of accuracy of the model ultrasound images is determined based at least in part on one or more ultrasound image of an actual heart. When the probability of accuracy is above a given threshold, the heart model is applied to the ultrasound images of the actual heart in order to determine heart fiber geometry for the actual heart.

This present disclosure relates to the use of a cranberry extract rich in proanthocyanidins as antibiotic synergizing agent to mitigate multidrug resistance and biofilm formation in different pathogenic bacteria. The synergistic combination of antibiotic and cranberry extract could treat bacterial infections using a lower dose of antibiotics to prevent biofilm formation and proliferation of microorganisms, with defined modes of action.
