A method and apparatus for suspending poultry to be slaughtered, in particular living or stunned chickens (16), in conveyor support holders, e.g. slaughter support holders (22) of an overhead conveyor, where the chickens e.g. by means of a belt conveyor (34) are delivered on a distribution surface (20), where the chickens (16) are successively guided or pushed outwards against the edge of the distribution surface (20) to individual positions (2) which are adapted to receive a chicken (16), which is e.g. disposed with the breast side downwards such that the legs (14) project from the edge of the said positions (2), where the legs (14) are fixed in fixing means (12) at the said positions (2), where the individual positions (2) are then successively moved upwards relative to the distribution surface (20) with the object of suspending the chickens (16) by a subsequent downward movement of the positions (2), e.g. at slaughtering brackets (22) of the overhead conveyor which runs above and spaced apart from the distribution surface (20) predominantly horizontally along a part length extending close past the distribution surface (20), and where the said positions (2) are subsequently moved downwardly again to the level of the distribution surface (20). By means of simple technical measures it hereby becomes possible to achieve a substantial alleviation of the heavy and monotonous lifting work such that the risk of load-associated injuries can be reduced correspondingly.

An installation for processing slaughtered animal parts of slaughtered animals and forming batches each containing one or more slaughtered animal parts, which installation comprises: - a conveying system (1) with a single conveying device or with a plurality of conveying devices, - at least one slaughtered animal treatment device (10,11,12) positioned along the path of a conveying device, - a first weighing device (20) for determining the weight of the one or more slaughtered animal parts carried by a product carrier (3), - an installation control device (30) comprising: - slaughtered animal part position determining means which pertain to the conveying system and know substantially continuously the position of each slaughtered animal part in the conveying system, - memory means wherein, for each slaughtered animal part in the conveying system, at least one memory field is present for the weight, determined by the first weighing device, of the slaughtered animal part, and - a batching device which is positioned along the path of a conveying device for forming batches each containing one or more slaughtered animal parts.

The invention relates to a device for bringing into position and arranging a carcass or carcass part (1) of slaughtered poultry on or in a product carrier (50); which device comprises; - at least one assembly of a movable holder (21) for the carcass or carcass part of slaughtered poultry with positioning means pertaining to the holder for the carcass or carcass part, which holder is adapted for receiving a carcass or carcass part to be arranged on or in a product carrier, - drive means (24) for moving the holder between a receiving position in which the carcass or carcass -part can be received and a transfer position in which the carcass or carcass part is brought into a position relative to the product carrier which is suitable for transfer to the product carrier.

An apparatus for deboning a chicken leg includes a conveyor (12) for holding the leg by the hock, a plunge knife device (80) for severing the knee joint and pulling the femur from the thigh meat, a cutting device (94) for severing the tendons at the hock of the leg, and a scraper for pulling the drumstick meat along the tibia and fibia toward the knee. The scraping mechanism includes a laterally movable carriage (100) supporting at least one pair of jaws (108, 110) having notches (112, 114) along their edges to clear the leg bones, a first air cylinder (134) for closing and opening the jaws, and a second air cylinder (142) for moving the carriage away from the hock-restraining conveyor.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen im Wesentlichen trichterförmigen kippbaren Behälter (10), der konfiguriert ist einen lebenden Vogel aufzunehmen, wobei der Behälter (10) eine Halterung (110a) zum Halten des Behälters (10) mit dem spitzen Ende nach unten zeigend und eine mit der Halterung (110a) verbundene Schwenkvorrichtung (110b) zum Kippen des Behälters (10), um den lebenden Vogel automatisch aus dem Behälter (10) zu entlassen, aufweist. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft auch ein System und ein Verfahren unter Verwendung des trichterförmigen Behälters (10), welches zum Wiegen, Zählen, Impfen und Sortieren von lebenden Vögeln geeignet ist.

The invention provides a device and a method for processing slaughter animals, in particular slaughtered poultry such as chickens, and/or parts thereof. The device comprises a driving system for driving an element to be driven of the device. The, driving system comprises a driving element, a transfer element, which is driven by the driving element in use and which is rigidly connected during normal operation to the element to be driven, as well as overload protection means which are configured to rigidly connect the processing element and the transfer element during normal operation and to allow relative movement between the processing element and the transfer element in an overload situation if a force that acts between the processing element and the transfer element exceeds a threshold value. The overload protection means comprise a first connecting element forming part of one of the transfer element and the element to be driven and a second connecting element forming part of the other one of the transfer element and the element to be driven, wherein the first connecting element is configured as a first magnet element (36) and the second connecting element is either magnetisable or configured as a second magnet element.

The invention pertains to a method for removing a thigh bone from a defeathered whole leg poultry product, wherein the method comprises the following steps: providing a leg product comprising: - a thigh, which thigh comprises a thigh bone and thigh meat, - a drumstick, - a knee joint, which knee joint comprises a connection between the thigh and the drumstick, in which leg product, a transverse cut has been provided at the knee joint transverse to the thigh bone and the tibia bone, which extends from one side of the leg product to a cut end so that the thigh and the drumstick are connected to each other, by which transverse cut a drumstick side cut plane and a thigh side cut plane are created, while keeping the thigh and the drumstick connected to each other, changing the angle between the thigh and thereby exposing the thigh side cut plane, while keeping the thigh meat and the drumstick connected to each other, removing the thigh bone from the thigh meat via the thigh side cut plane.
