In terms of a method and for a respective image, a location at which the image was captured, a direction along which the image was captured and a level of zoom associated with the image may be identified. The method may also include determining a location and size of a representation of the image to be superimposed upon a map based upon the location at which the image was captured, the direction along which the image was captured and the level of zoom associated with the image. The method may further include causing a map to be presented with the representation the image superimposed thereupon.

A mobile computing implemented platform is provided that enables the generation of way- finding information by extracting current location information by analyzing one or more photographs including information relevant to a physical landmark in a facility. Related systems and method are provided for generating the way-finding information. Other systems and methods utilize dead reckoning for way-finding.
