Abstract:
An antenna arrangement comprising an antenna, wherein the flat antenna structure which is used has a metal clamp arranged opposite a base plane which is embodied as an electrical counterweight. One side of the antenna clamp is connected to the base plane, the other side thereof being connected to the antenna signal. The antenna clamp forms a surface. The low impedance metal reflecting layer of the glass of the rear-view mirror is, for instance, divided into electrically insulated segments by means of a grid structure. The size of the segments is selected in such a way that high-frequency antenna radiation can pass through said mirror.
Abstract:
An inventive rearview mirror assembly (10) is disclosed in which a microwave antenna (54) is mounted so as to receive transmissions from one or more satellites through the front windshield (20) of the vehicle (25). The microwave antenna may be tuned to receive satellite transmissions from a position identification system constellation of satellites, such as GPS or GLONASS. Additionally, the microwave antenna may be tuned to alternatively or additionally receive transmissions from at least one communications satellite, such as a CD radio satellite. In addition to the inventive rearview mirror assembly, an inventive electrical control system is disclosed that may be used as a navigation system, an electrochromic rearview mirror control system, a head lamp control system, a vehicle compass system, a vehicle data recorder system, and/or a vehicle odometer verification system. In each of the above systems, new parameters are made available by the microwave antenna to perform control operations not previously performed.
Abstract:
A TV antenna element (2) is constituted by a first belt-like antenna element (4) and a second linear antenna element (5), and is stuck in a loop onto the inner surface of a door mirror case (1). Improved characteristics are obtained owing to a combination of the capacitance feature of the first antenna element (4) and the inductance feature of the second antenna element (5). The wiring is easily routed since the antenna element is connected to the side of the car body through the second antenna element (5). The GPS antenna assembly is arranged on the rear side of the mirror.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a communication technique and system for converging, with IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system. The present invention may be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cards, health care, digital education, retail business, security and safety related services, etc.), on the basis of the 5G communication technology and IoT associated technology. In addition, the present invention provides a beamforming antenna assembly including a patterned mirror and also provides a vehicle side mirror assembly including the beamforming antenna assembly. The beamforming antenna assembly allows a beam radiated from a beamforming antenna to pass a mirror through a pattern.
Abstract:
A rearview mirror assembly includes a main housing defining an interior surface, an interior cavity at least partially bounded by the interior surface, and an open side. The assembly further includes a control module coupled within the interior of the main housing, a mirror coupled over the open side of the main housing, and an antenna electrically coupled with the control module and positioned within the interior cavity of the main housing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a communication apparatus for a vehicle, in which an RF element is arranged in a rear-view mirror and electrically connected to a radiating element mounted on a shade band. The communication apparatus comprises said RF element arranged in the rear-view mirror, and the radiating element mounted on the shade band and electrically connected to the RF element.
Abstract:
A vehicle communication and control system (100) is provided that may be more readily installed in a vehicle and that utilizes minimal additional wiring. According to some of the disclosed embodiments, the electrical components of the "brick" of a communication and control system are integrated into a rearview mirror assembly. Preferably, the microwave antenna (50) for the GPS (80) and the cellular telephone antenna (114) are also integrated into the rearview mirror assembly. Various functions and features of the system are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An external rear view mirror assembly (10) for motor vehicles having a support arm (12) and brackets (18) for mounting the support arm to the motor vehicle. A housing (20) defining an interior volume is provided with the support arm having a vertical portion (14) extending completely through the interior volume of the housing. At least one support plate (32) removably attached directly to the vertical portion of the support arm. An adjustable mirror assembly (58) mounted to the front side of the support plate so as to be variably positionable relative thereto. An antenna mounting bracket (38) formed integral with and extends from the back side of the support plate into the interior volume of the housing. The antenna mounting bracket is configured for receipt of an antenna (40) which extends out of a hole (66) of the housing. The entire weight of the antenna and the antenna mounting bracket is supported by the support plate which is in turn directly attached to the support arm.
Abstract:
A vehicle antenna system has a special vehicle antenna that can be hidden from view so as to deter thieves and vandals as well as prevent damage to the antenna during car washes. In the preferred form, the antenna comprises a rearview-mirror-mounted antenna (50). The antenna can also comprise a sun-visor-mounted antenna (52), side-view-mirror-mounted antenna (26), glove-compartment-mounted antenna (48), or dashboard-mounted antenna (38).
