Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for using second screen devices to augment media engagement metrics. In one aspect, a method includes accessing user activity data describing user activities performed by a user on a first user device during a first time period, and accessing data describing presentation of one or more content items during the first time period on second user devices. For the first user device, determining based on the user activity data, for each of a plurality of second time periods that are sub-periods of the first time period, a first level of user engagement with the first user device, and determining, based on the user activity data, for each second time period that is a sub-period of the first time period, a second level of user engagement with the one or more content items presented.

La présente invention propose un procédé de changement de chaîne dans une passerelle connectée à une pluralité de modules consommateurs de flux audio-vidéo et gérant une pluralité de chaînes délivrées par une plateforme, ce procédé comprenant : - une étape d' abonnement à au moins une chaîne à afficher et à n chaînes additionnelles placées en mémoires tampons circulaires, - une étape de changement dans laquelle la passerelle : - revient à l'étape d'abonnement si la chaîne suivante n'est pas l'une des chaînes placées en mémoire; - commence une diffusion en continu de la chaîne suivante placée en mémoire si cette chaîne suivante est l'une des chaînes placées en mémoire; la diffusion en continu étant réalisée à partir de la mémoire tampon circulaire correspondante soit en commençant à un point optimal, soit par lecture de manière accélérée pendant une durée prédéterminée, sélectionne un autre jeu de n chaînes à prémémoriser en mémoire tampon en se basant sur ladite chaîne suivante.

Abstract:
Computer-implemented methods and systems of session management of data between a content management server and a plurality of interconnected remote devices over network are presented. The remote devices, such as mobile devices, detect broadcast information from a television that is in range of cameras and microphones. An agent on remote devices uses automatic content recognition to identify broadcast information. The recognized broadcast data and user interaction data, are transmitted through a network to a trends database. The server coupled to the trends database and a broadcast information database correlates data to derive content relevant analytics data. The analytics data is provided to subscribers to show viewing trends and said subscribers can push content to the remote devices by a number of means. The collected analytics data is presented to subscribers through a GUI that allows subscribers determine relevance and value.
Abstract:
Techniques for analyzing media content are described. One technique generally comprises performing a regression analysis for characters in a plurality of media content based on user demographics, content outcome measure, and character models. The technique determines an attribute of significance. In some embodiments, the technique selects media content for display that depicts a character having at least a threshold value of the attribute of significance. In some embodiments, the technique displays media analytics for the attribute of significance determined based on a value of the attribute of significance exceeding a threshold significance value.

The present invention relates to a method for operating an image display device, the method comprising the steps of, receiving at least one category characterizing the content of a program in the form of a content identifier describing the contextual category of an event or a program, storing on the internal memory a database of categories in respect of a plurality of programs associated with a given channel in the form of channel-specific program-pertinent information, including total watching duration data of all channels in different categories, determining category of a given program being watched on a given channel upon activation of the automatic channel switch function button, determining channels that were previously watched in the actual category that is being watched and determining the channel with the highest priority by comparing total watching duration data of all the channels in the actual program category up to that time.
