This invention relates to a process for preparing conditioned titanium dioxide pigments comprising (a) during pigment manufacture, admixing the following components to form a conditioned pigment: (1) a crude titanium dioxide pigment material; (2) at least about 0.1% by weight, relative to the inorganic pigment, of one or more copolymer dispersants; and (3) an optional processing liquid (preferably water); and, (b) isolating the conditioned pigment as dry powder.

A protective and decorative coating composition including about 2 to 10 different colorants which in combination with a resinous composition produce a desired visible coating. A majority of the colorants has a maximum haze of about 10% and exhibits an absorbance peak in the visible spectrum wherein at least about 50% of the total absorbance in the visible spectrum occurs at wavelengths within about 50 nm of the wavelength of the peak absorbance.

Methods of providing a paint line containing a latex polymeric binder are described. A range of paints can be formulated using sets of prepaints, at least one of which contains a latex polymeric binder. The paints may be applied as architectural coatings, industrial coatings, graphic arts coating, elastomeric coatings, and non-cementitious, aggregate finish coatings suitable for application on a wall directly or as a topcoat in exterior insulation finishing systems.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine mindestens temporär wirkende, sprühfähige, nicht korrosive Oberflächenfunktionsbeschichtung auf der Basis einer alkoholischen Acetatlösung. Erfindungsgemäß ist mindestens ein, in Pulverform vorliegender funktionsbestimmender Stoff einer Schmelze zugegeben, um die Pulverpartikel einzubetten. Anschließend wird die derart angereicherte Schmelze durch Zugabe eines Glykols in eine Lösung überführt sowie im Anschluss hieran durch Einbringen, insbesondere Einträufeln der Lösung in demineralisiertes Wasser als Trägermittel für die Bildung von Assoziationskolloiden gesorgt, welche die eingebetteten Pulverpartikel um hüllen, wobei der so vorbehandelte funktionsbestimmende Stoff der alkoholischen Acetatlösung zugegeben ist.
