Described is a method of diagnosing, treating, or monitoring a treatment for Kawasaki disease in a subject. The method includes detecting the level of a biomarker in a sample obtained from the subject, the biomarker being IL-7F, sCD40L, MPIF-1, E-selectin, IP-10, or IL-33. The level is compared to a cut-off level. Also described is a kit for carrying out the method.

Disclosed herein are antibody fusion constructs and uses thereof. The antibody fusion construct may comprise an antibody fusion protein. The antibody fusion protein may comprise a non-antibody peptide inserted into an antibody portion of the antibody fusion protein. Alternatively, the antibody fusion construct may comprise a bispecific antibody. The bispecific antibody may comprise a second antibody or antibody fragment inserted into a first antibody or antibody fragment. Insertion of the non- antibody peptide (or second antibody or antibody fragment) into the antibody portion (or first antibody or antibody fragment) may comprise replacement of one or more amino acids in a constant domain of the antibody portion (or first antibody or antibody fragment). A detection method is provided which uses immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence and wherein specific anti-oxMIF antibodies and specific idiotypic monoclonal rabbit antibodies are used.

A method for assessing cell contraction includes adhering contractile cells to an oxidized and cellular adhesion activated surface of a biocompatible silicone elastomer film. The biocompatible silicone elastomer film allows the cells to contract and wrinkles when the cells contract. Wrinkles in the biocompatible silicone elastomer film formed by contraction of the contractile cells are analyzed to assess cell contraction.
