Abstract:
A strobel for an article of footwear comprises a polymeric bladder that defines an interior cavity. The polymeric bladder is configured to retain a fluid in the interior cavity. The polymeric bladder has a peripheral flange extending around at least a portion of a perimeter of the interior cavity. The peripheral flange defines a groove extending along the peripheral flange. The polymeric bladder may include a first polymeric sheet bonded to a second polymeric sheet at the peripheral flange and joined to the second polymeric sheet at a plurality of interior welds each of which extends only partway across the interior cavity. Methods of manufacturing a strobel and manufacturing footwear are included.
Abstract:
A strobel for an article of footwear comprises a polymeric bladder defining an interior cavity and configured to retain a fluid in the interior cavity. The polymeric bladder has a peripheral flange extending around at least a portion of a perimeter of the interior cavity. A tensile component is disposed in the interior cavity and is secured to opposing inner surfaces of the polymeric bladder. The peripheral flange defines a groove extending along the peripheral flange. A lasting component is configured to extend along the peripheral flange around the at least a portion of the perimeter of the interior cavity. The lasting component is secured to the peripheral flange. An article of footwear having the strobel and a method of manufacturing footwear are disclosed.
Abstract:
A system for stitching two parts of a shoe together includes a stitching machine with a head (14) and a cylinder bed (26). The head (14) has a needle base (18) disposed on a lower end adjacent the cylinder bed (26) such that the two shoe parts can be stitched together therebetween. A positioning mechanism (32) has a curved drive frame (38) and is capable of moving the curved drive frame (38) in a rotating motion (34) along the circumference of the curved drive frame (38) and in a linear direction generally along an axis of the curved drive frame (38). A jig (50) positions the two shoe parts with respect to one another and is coupled to the curved drive frame (38). The jig (50) includes a curved support surface (72, 78) for supporting the two shoe parts.
Abstract:
A stitching system (82) includes a jig (44, 84, 86) capable of joining two shoe parts and capable of being used in an automated stitching machine. The jig (44, 84, 86) includes a lower member (130, 46, 56, 92) capable of being operably coupled to the automated stitching machine and an upper member (108, 62) also capable of being operably coupled to the automated stitching machine. The two shoe parts are held in place between the lower member (130, 46, 56, 92) and the upper member (108, 62). The lower member (130, 46, 56, 92), the upper member (108, 62) and the two shoe parts therebetween are moved by the automated stitching machine in accordance with a pattern stored in the automated stitching machine.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A device for putting on a shoe cover on a shoe, comprising a bar (20) and an expanding holder (24) for a shoe cover (50) at one end of the bar, the shoe cover comprising a bag (50) having a neck that is tightened by an elastic string (51), which extends around at least a part of the circumference of the bag neck. A stand (10) having a guide (14), which guides the bar (20) to a generally vertical axial motion. Biasing members (30, 32, 35) are provided to bias the bar against an upper end position in which the clamping holder (24), that is mounted at the lower end of the bar (20), is lifted up from a substratum (1) for the stand (10) to a level that enables a user to conveniently mount the shoe cover (50) on the holder (24). The bar is displaceable against the action of the biasing device to a lower state at which the holder having mounted shoe cover is situated at the floor.
Abstract:
Process for waterproofing a semimanufactured product (5) of footwear, gloves, clothing items and accessories, characterized in that it comprises the following operating steps: - arranging the semimanufactured product (5) between one or more airtight surfaces (1, 1a, 1b; 13; 16; 20) and a waterproofing sheath (6) shaped for entirely or partially cover the surfaces to be waterproofed of the semimanufactured product (5); - generating a depression between the waterproofing sheath (6) and said airtight surfaces (1, 1a, 1b; 13; 16; 20), so that the waterproofing sheath (6) adheres to the semimanufactured product (5) by means of glue (21) arranged between the surfaces to be waterproofed of the semimanufactured product (5) and the waterproofing sheath (6). The present invention also relates to a device that carries out said process, as well 15 as the products obtained with this process or device.
