    Abstract: Construction machines using a rubber crawler are being diversified because the driver is less fatigued; however, under severe operating conditions, much damage occurs in the machine to make the latter unusable in a short time. This problem is solved herein.     Abstract: In hinge chains with rubber bearings (5), in which rubberized tubular steel bushings are used as bearings for track pins (20), the bolt ends are normally provided with threaded studs to allow the steel bushings (10) to be braced immovably by screw nuts against one another and against the track pins (20). In order to lengthen the useful life of the rubber bearing (5) and to reduce maintenance, a rubberized expanding bushing (10) with at least one dividing joint (11) is proposed instead of a tubular bushing. The internal diameter (25) of the bushing (10) which is forced in is les than the diameter (27) of the track pin (20). The inserted track pin (20) expands the bushing (10) which is forced into the chain link (1). The track pin (20) is braced inside the bushing (10) and secured along its length by friction and around its periphery by friction and/or positive engagement. No screw joints are needed for bracing the bushing (10) and use of the threaded portion of the screw joint increases the rubber bearing-surface. This improves the useful life of the rubber bearing and reduces maintenance.

    Abstract: A crawler track mechanism comprises a plurality of track plates each mounted on track chain links, the chain links (10) being interconnected by bushes having an outer sleeve (4) rotatably journalled on an inner sleeve (2) which in turn is rotatably journalled on a central cylindrical pin (1). A drive sprocket (60) (and if required, an idler sprocket) comprises recesses (62) having a semi-circular cross section to receivably locate the bushes. The bushes, by virtue of the relative rotation between the pin (1), the inner sleeve (2) and the outer sleeve (4), reduce friction and wear between the drive sprocket and the chain bushes.
