Lenksystem für ein Fahrzeug mit mindestens drei lenkbaren Rädern (9, 12) bei dem ein wahlweise aktivierbares Bedienelement (22) vorgesehen ist, dessen Aktivierung die Auslösung einer der folgenden Funktionen bewirkt: -eine Betätigung des Lenksollwertgebers (19) führt zu einer Drehung der Lenkpolachse (A) um einen Lenkpolachsendrehpol (Q); -die Lenkpolachse (A) wird in einem vorgegebenen Drehsinn um den Lenkpolachsendrehpol (Q) für die Dauer der Aktivierung gedreht; -die Lenkpolachse (A) wird in einem vorgegebenen Drehsinn um den Lenkpolachsendrehpol (Q) um einen vorgegebenen Winkel gedreht; -die Lenkpolachse (A) wird in einem vorgegebenen Drehsinn um den Lenkpolachsendrehpol (Q) in eine vorgegebene Winkelposition gedreht.

A crawler track machine (10) such as a cold planar milling machine (10) may incorporate a steering system having multiple steering modes including coordinated steering modes as well as an improved crab mode. Orientations of front and rear pairs of crawler tracks (18) may be managed via a linear actuator control system (70) adapted to dynamically adjust lengths of front and rear tie rods (40, 40'). In one disclosed embodiment, the machine (10) may include at least a coordinated four-track (18) steering mode, an independent front track (18) steering mode, and a crab mode. The crab mode may involve use of automated linear actuators (60) on the tie rods to assure that all tracks (18) remain substantially parallel to one another, and may involve the use of lookup tables to coordinate actuator (60) movements in response to individual parallel track (18) angle demands as a function of steering inputs.

Ein lenkbares Schwerlasttransportfahrzeug (1) mit unterhalb eines Transportbereichs (2) zur Aufnahme von Schwerlasten angeordneten und jeweils antreibbaren und/ oder lenkbaren Rädern (6;3), wird so ausgebildet, daß jeweils zwei oder mehr Räder (6, 3) zu einem Radsatz (8;4) zusammengefaßt sind, dessen Drehachse (9;4a,4b,4c,4d) gegenüber einem zu dem Transportbereich (2) ortsfesten Fahrzeugrahmen ( 10) mit einer Komponente in vertikaler Richtung gegenüber einer Mittelstellung aufwärts und abwärts bewegbar ist.

Este invento se refiere a una mejora al sistema de dirección automotriz, el cual además de funcionar como una dirección hidráulica convencional, alcanza un giro de noventa grados cuando gira a la derecha y al alcanzar este giro permite estacionar adecuadamente, en menor tiempo ó cuando se dispone de poco espacio para maniobrar un vehículo de combustión interna, a la izquierda con la reversa y a la derecha con las velocidades de avance. El objeto de este invento ha sido hecho en un esfuerzo por resolver el problema de estacionar un vehículo, ya sea eléctrico, que funciona con hidrógeno, híbrido o de combustión interna, adecuadamente, en menos tiempo y/o cuando se dispone de poco espacio para maniobrar, gracias a una serie de innovaciones.

A propulsion system is for a road milling machine with a rotatable cutter drum (3). The system includes four crawler assemblies (12) movably coupled with the mainframe so as to define front and rear, and left and right, pairs of crawler assemblies. Four steering actuators (14) are each coupled with a separate crawler assembly and each angularly displaces the crawler about a vertical axis (12a). A first pump (16A) is fluidly coupled with the left pair of crawlers and a second pump (16B) is fluidly coupled with the right pair of crawlers. A control (20) is configured to selectively operate the four actuators in a plurality of different steering modes, one steering mode being a circle steer mode, and to operate the two pumps such that one of the left and right pairs of crawlers are drivable by the first pump in one direction while the other pair of crawlers are drivable in an opposing direction.

A motor vehicle steering control provides two degrees of freedom with a one- handed operation that is simple and intuitive. The control is achieved with a joystick control movable from side to side (e.g. as in an aircraft) in combination with a yoke control which rotates on an axis (e.g. like the steering wheel of a car). The yoke control (giving one degree of freedom) is mounted to the joystick control, the latter of which adds a second degree of freedom. The steering of both the front and rear wheels of a variety of vehicles may be controlled, including vehicles where the operator rides with the vehicle and, as well, remote controlled vehicles where the operator is situated remote from the vehicle. The latter case contemplates remote controlled steering not only of full scale vehicles designed to move or haul some load but also model vehicles such as radio-controlled model cars and the like.
