Abstract:
The invention relates to a ventilation device with a holder, particularly a ventilation frame (3, 3', 3") which has a substantially circular continuous opening (4, 4', 4", 4"') for receiving a ventilation wheel (5, 5', 5", 5'", 5"") rotating about the central axis (10) thereof, wherein the opening (4, 4', 4", 4"') is bordered by a edge face (15, 15', 15", 15'", 15"", 15""', 40, 40', 40", 40'", 40"") running substantially cylinder-symmetrically about the central axis (10), and wherein, at the edge face (15, 15', 15", 15"', 15"", 15""', 40, 40', 40", 40"'), in two separate, diametrically opposed peripheral sections (17, 17', 17", 18, 18', 18") the radius is at least partly enlarged in comparison to the cylinder-symmetrical form in the remaining peripheral sections, and/or a circular projection (30, 36, 38) of the edge face (15, 15', 15", 15"', 15"", 15""', 40, 40', 40", 40"', 40""), which projection projects radially inwards, is axially offset away from the space provided for the ventilation wheel (5, 5', 5", 5"', 5""). Because of the corresponding shaping of the edge face (15, 15', 15", 15"', 15"", 15"'", 40, 40', 40", 40"', 40"") of the opening (4, 4', 4", 4'") contact and/or development of noise between the ventilation wheel and the edge of the opening (4, 4', 4", 4"') is also prevented in the ventilation frame (3, 3', 3") in the event of a yawing of a ventilation wheel used when pivoting the ventilation device.
Abstract:
A gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a fan section including a fan with a plurality of fan blades rotatable about an axis and a shroud and a speed change device in communication with the fan.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A fan comprises a rotatable hub, a plurality of fan blades coupled with the hub, and a plurality of air fences coupled with the fan blades. Each fan blade has a free end and an opposite end secured to the hub. The air fences are positioned at selected locations along the length of the fan blades, between the ends of the fan blades. Each air fence includes a fin, which may extend upwardly or downwardly from the fan blade. Each air fence may be formed of a resilient material and may be configured to allow the air fence to be snapped onto a fan blade. Each air fence may define an opening through which a fan blade may be inserted. One or more surfaces of the air fence may be contoured to complement a surface contour of an airfoil shaped fan blade.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a fan (10) comprising: a central hub (12); blades (14) angularly distributed about the principal axis of rotation (A); a peripheral annular skirt (16), which is coaxial to the principal axis of rotation (A) and of which an inner cylindrical face is joined to the outer radial end of each blade (14) and is axially delimited by two end radially planes (Q1, Q2), and; an outer annular radial rib (22) that radially extends from the annular skirt (16) toward the outside of the fan (10). The invention is characterized in that the principal radial plane (P) of the radial rib (22) is axially positioned along the principal axis of rotation (A) between the two end radial planes (Q1, Q2) of the annular skirt (16) while situated at a distance from these two planes (Q1, Q2).
Abstract:
A fan is provided for use with a casing having a bellmouth and a conduit portion. The fan has a hub, a number of blades extending from the hub, and a shroud. In cooperation with the casing and the conduit portion surrounding the shroud, the shroud has means for generating a separation bubble effective to limit a recirculation flow.
