Abstract:
Abstract:
A link member for a tyre chain, comprising a body including a cavity for receiving a portion of a ring element therein, the body also including an opening for inserting the ring element into the cavity, said body further being adapted to receive a retaining member for closing the opening and retaining the ring element in the cavity.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A link connector, comprising; a first link part (1) and a second link part (2), each part comprising a first and a second leg (3, 4), the first leg (3) of the first link part (1) being adapted to be engaged to the second leg (4) of the second link part (2), and a respective base portion (5), at least one of which is adapted to be engaged to a chain link, and; a member (6, 10) for securing the first and second link parts (1, 2) in relation to each other when they are in engagement with each other. Abstract:
A method of mooring a vessel to a subsea anchoring element (1) connected to the seabed, and comprising a chain section (3) which is not longer than half the water depth, and which is at or near its free end provided with a coupling member (4), is characterised by the steps of: lowering a multi-strand anchor line (9) from a vessel (8), the multi-strand anchor line (9) being at its free end attached to a connector (10), and attaching the connector (10) to the coupling member (4). The present disclosure also provides an anchor line repair or exchange method comprising the steps of: disconnecting the first multi-strand anchor line (16) from the chain section, lowering a second multi-strand anchor line (9) from a vessel (8), the second multi-strand line (9) being at its free end attached to connector (10), and attaching the connector (10) of the second multi-strand line (9) to the coupling member (4).
Abstract:
A weak link for installation in a chain or rope, comprising two end attachments (1, 2) connected to a tension bolt (3) and a breaking element (5). One or more annular cylinder spaces are arranged co-axially with the tension bolt (3), and these annular cylinder spaces have passages (10, 10'', 10''', 10'''') for the supply of pressurized oil from a common reservoir. The axial forces from the annular cylinder spaces are transmitted from the pistons (4, 6, 8) and bottoms (1, 7, 9) to the end attachments (1, 2) via the tension bolt (3) and the breaking element (5). The breaking element may be a washer provided with a concentric, circular limitation of the contact surfaces on both sides, however such that the contact surface of one of the sides lies immediately inside said limitation while the other lies immediately outside the limitation. The breaking element may optionally be a breaking pin (5) extending through an end attachment (2) and a tension bolt (3), or a tension rod (5) where a neck in its cylindrical part has been weakened in order to constitute a defined breaking zone.
