Abstract:
A positive displacement dosing system is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of disposable positive displacement pumps. The disposable positive displacement pumps each include a pump body having head portion and a base portion, with the head portion having one or more fluid passage openings. Each disposable positive displacement pump also includes a rolling diaphragm internal to the pump body and defining a fluid chamber within the pump body. The disposable positive displacement pump also includes a piston drive unit configured to reciprocally drive the rolling diaphragm to move fluid in or out of the fluid chamber. The positive displacement dosing system includes tubing connecting the fluid reservoir to the disposable positive displacement pump. A method of dispensing a fluid is disclosed as well.
Abstract:
An apparatus for introducing a selected beverage into a flexible pouch (8), sealingly closing the pouch (8) and dispensing the closed pouch (8). The apparatus comprises a housing (4) adapted to, in use, accept a plurality of reservoirs (10) of beverage concentrate. Each reservoir (10) has a concentrate pump (12) provided with a diluent inlet and a mixer for mixing pumped concentrate with diluent to produce a mixed beverage. Leading from each pump (12) is flexible conduit (14) terminating in a nozzle (68) for dispensing the mixed beverage. The apparatus further comprises a multiple dispense head (20) for accepting the plurality of nozzles (68), the nozzles (68) being movable relative to a filling position such that any one of the nozzles (68) can be presented at the filling position, a means for, in use, selecting a flexible pouch (8) and bringing it into alignment with a nozzle (68) in the filling position where it is filled via an opening therein, and a means for, in use, sealingly closing the opening and dispensing the filled sealed flexible pouch (8) from the apparatus. Methods of loading a concentrate reservoir (10), disengaging a removable pump (12) and changing a removable pump (12) are also disclosed. A flexible pouch with rigid spout and mixing element are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A pressurized paint container initially containing at least a propellant or an initial paint formation having a neutral or clear color is prepared by injecting either a fully formulated paint mixture or tints and/or pigment dispersions into the container through a septum fitted into a filling opening or through the valve in the container.
Abstract:
An apparatus for charging pressurized aerosol cans (3) with liquid is provided having a reservoir (5), filler coupling (19) and safety release device (4). The safety release device (4) automatically prevents over-charging the can (3) by interacting with the safety dome to cause the can (3) to disengage from the filling reservoir (5).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for filling needle-free injectors (35). According to the invention, filling is carried out via the discharge opening of the injector (35) with a previously used piston stopper (38). The filling is carried out such that, independent of injector tolerances, the interior space is filled to the brim in a manner that is at least nearly free of bubbles, whereby the fluid to be filled does not necessarily need to be measured or dosed. The filled state is either determined when there is no longer a vacuum inside the interior space or when the piston has been displaced to a certain position.
