Abstract:
The invention discloses a rotary piston filler arrangement, which includes at least one electronically actuated piston adapted to fill products into containers. The pistons are individually actuated and are tailored to a specific product. The arrangement is adapted to allow air to be purged from the pistons and without discharging any product, drastically reducing product and container waste. Since the pistons are not cam bound, charging the pistons with product is done at higher than filling speed, increasing the output speed of the machine.
Abstract:
A cartridge assembly for a filling machine includes a plurality of containers. Each container includes a volume and a stem connected to the volume. A connection line grid is in fluid communication with each stem of the plurality of containers. The connection line grid includes a first row connected to one or more containers of the plurality of containers and a second row connected to one or more containers of the plurality of containers. A filter assembly is coupled to the connection line grid.
Abstract:
A method and system for filling a flexible film bag (502, 504) attached to a face plate (506) with a flowable composition is disclosed. The system includes a chamber (604, 608) for receiving the flexible film bag (502, 504) and a fill tube (702, 704) for dispensing the flowable composition into the flexible film bag (502, 504), where the fill tube (702, 704) is at least partially disposed in the film bag (502, 504). The system also includes a pump (640) in fluid communication with the chamber, where the pump (640) creates a vacuum between an exterior surface of the flexible film bag (502, 504) and an interior surface of the chamber (604, 608), such that the flexible film bag (502, 504) expands from an unexpanded state to an expanded state.
Abstract:
A filling device comprises a modified vacuum-filling head that introduces a viscous filling, such as a gravy, into a loaf matrix in a retortable can so that the filling remains enclosed by the set loaf matrix after retorting. The filling can remain as a viscous gravy or can set as a gel, depending on the formulation of the filling. Preferably the viscous filling is distributed horizontally into the loaf matrix, for example through horizontally-facing apertures, during a pause in the descent of the can away from the filling device. The flow of the filling can be controlled by synchronized pneumatic valves.

Abstract:
The invention relates to an assembly for filling a container with at least a first product which is viscous during the filling operation, the assembly comprising a reservoir for storing the first product, a mechanism for pumping the first product from the reservoir to a distribution chamber, ducts connecting the reservoir to the pumping mechanism and the pumping mechanism to the distribution chamber, and a filling device comprising at least two dispensing spouts, each spout being in the form of a tube which is fixed at the upstream end to the distribution chamber and has an inlet orifice that opens into the distribution chamber and an outlet orifice that opens out at the free end of the spout in order to fill a container. According to the invention, the at least two spouts are designed to deliver the first product at different flow rates from one another.
Abstract:
A system comprises a piston setting device (40) and a cartridge comprising a piston and a cartridge chamber which can be filled by a filling mass. The cartridge chamber further comprises a closeable outlet opening for the discharge of the filling mass whereby the filling mass is storable in said cartridge chamber when the outlet opening is closed and the piston is inserted into the cartridge chamber. The piston (25) comprises a first piston part which rests in sealed manner against the cartridge wall and a second piston part, which forms venting valve comprising a valve plug together with the first piston part, wherein said valve plug opens when a pressure is exerted on the side of the piston opposite to the filling mass by a piston setting device. Furthermore a piston setting device is provided, wherein the piston setting device comprises a housing, a conduit (42) arranged in said housing, said conduit having a first end and a second end, said first end comprising an attachment element (46) connectable to a vacuum source (48) and said second end comprising a plunger, said plunger being connectable to a valve plug of the piston for opening said valve plug when said piston setting device is attached to said piston. Furthermore the invention relates to a piston setting device and a method for setting a piston in a cartridge by means of said piston setting device.
