A header connector assembly (100) includes an outer housing, an inner housing, a shield subassembly, and a seal body. The outer housing is disposed in an opening (104) of a panel (102) and includes a cavity. The inner housing includes a channel and is disposed in the opening of the panel. The inner housing is received in the cavity of the outer housing and includes a channel configured to have a contact disposed therein. The shield subassembly is disposed between the outer housing and the inner housing. The shield subassembly engages the panel (102) to electrically couple the shield subassembly with the panel (102). The seal body is disposed between the panel (102) and at least one of the outer housing and the inner housing. The seal body restricts passage of contaminants between the panel (102) and at least one of the outer housing and the inner housing.

The present invention relates to a micro SD header connector in which a housing has a metal cover support to reduce assembly defects, to protect a switch of a card recognition unit, and to increase the cross-section area of a soldered surface of a metal cover to improve soldering characteristics. The connector of the present invention comprises: a plurality of connection terminals for electrically connecting terminals of a micro SD card to a PCB; said card recognition unit for recognizing the micro SD card when the micro SD card is inserted and detection terminals thus contact switch terminals; said metal cover having a guide portion for guiding the micro SD card when the micro SD card is inserted; and said housing which has a plurality of connection terminal mounting grooves for accommodating the respective connection terminals, detection terminal mounting grooves for accommodating the respective detection terminals, and switch terminal mounting grooves for accommodating the respective switch terminals, wherein said housing is coupled to the metal cover in order to form a space for mounting the micro SD card. The connector of the present invention has a protection unit for preventing the ends of the detection terminals and the switch terminals from being outwardly exposed, has a protruded grid wall formed at the side surface of the housing so as to support the metal cover and to increase the flatness of a soldered unit, and has a curvature at the soldered surface of the metal cover to increase the cross-section area of the soldered surface and to improve soldering characteristics.

The first shield portion comprises a plurality of first slots (5) having at least a portion extending substantially in the mating direction and defining spring elements (6). A shield is provided for use with a connector assembly that includes for sides that form an enclosure, one of the sides being a baseplate. The shield can include a plurality of guides positioned on the baseplate and the plurality of guides can be arranged in a pattern. Each guide can be formed by making two slits in the bottom plate so as to define a body portion of the guide and the body portion can be extended in the enclosure. Each guide can be supported by the baseplate at opposite ends of the body portion.

The invention relates to sections of cable ends which are stripped of their individual shield coatings, so that they form single shield plies (2) extending from an end portion of the unstripped strand (1) around which a strip of conductive padding (6) is wrapped until it reaches a predetermined diameter. The plies (2) are rolled up and distributed evenly over the circumference of the end portion of the strand (1), in successive rollings of the padding strip (6). The padding strip (6) is inserted using a ring-shaped reinforcing spring blade (7), all of which is then enclosed between two half-shells which are fastened to each other and connected to the connector.
