Abstract:
An oral cleaning appliance, such as a toothbrush (10) or a mouthpiece (20), includes a bristle arrangement which comprises a base member and a field of bristles for contacting and cleaning teeth, wherein the bristle field (17, 26) has bristles with a density of between 2-7%, and wherein the individual bristle filaments have a stiffness characterized by a deflection of no greater than 50% of their length for a bristle tip pressure of 6 Newtons/cm 2 and a deflection reaching 50% for a bristle tip pressure of 85 Newtons/cm 2 .
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a toothbrush brushing teeth by wrapping the teeth and a method of manufacturing the toothbrush. According to a first method, bundles of individual toothbrush bristles which are tied are made to have height similar to one another, and then the bundles of the individual toothbrush bristles are grouped to form independent columns arranged in a line. The independent columns are made longer or shorter in height to manufacture a toothbrush having a shape adequate for wrapping teeth. A second method is to cut or burn conventional toothbrush bristles having the same height in a U-like shape so as to wrap teeth. Thus, it is convenient to brush the inner and outer surfaces of teeth at the same time. Also, the inner surface of the teeth may be well brushed to remove plaque or prevent plaque generation. It is also advantageous that user's teeth and gums may be better protected. Also, the wrapping toothbrush having the U-shape or a shape similar to the U-shape may be more easily manufactured.
Abstract:
A mountable cleaning system is disclosed. The cleaning system includes a bracket, housing, and one or more cleaning cassettes. The cleaning system may be mounted by the bracket to a sink, for example at the sink divider, counter, or otherwise. Each of the bracket and the housing may be of one piece construction. The mountable cleaning system may include no hardware for assembly. The cleaning system may be used to clean knives or other utensils.
Abstract:
A toothbrush and method of brushing the teeth of a user. The toothbrush comprises a toothbrush handle having one or more toothbrush heads movable with respect to the handle. There are bristles provided on the toothbrush head or heads and those bristles can be along a single plane or may be along a plurality of planes. The flexibility and movability between the toothbrush handle and the toothbrush head allows the user to brush the teeth in a smooth, even pattern across the teeth, that is, the toothbrush handle can be used to manipulate the toothbrush head from the rear of one side of the teeth to the rear of the other side of the teeth without removing the toothbrush head from the mouth of the user. As such, users with difficulty carrying out complex manipulation of the toothbrush handle can still fully brush the teeth.
Abstract:
A toothbrush comprises a handle portion and a head portion. The head portion has a base member and first and second lateral walls extending upwardly therefrom to define a space. The base member and first and second lateral walls have bristles arranged thereon extending into the space. At least one, and preferably both, of the first and second lateral walls are pivotable relative to the base member to permit the side walls to move into and out of the space in response to forces.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A toothbrush device is described having a neck 1 and head 2, wherein the head 2 comprises at least three parts of a first plastics material, at least two of the parts having bristles 6, 6', 6" attached thereto, wherein the neck 1 has the first plastics material as primary material and wherein the bristles 6, 6', 6" on the head 2 are parted in the longitudinal direction of the head. A method for the manufacture of such a device is also described.
Abstract:
The invention relates to electromechanically actuated toothbrushes. The main aim of said invention is to deliver a cleaning head for an electromechanical toothbrush which ensures high-quality tooth cleaning by the free rotation of the U-shaped plates provided with bristles arranged on a plane parallel to a bearing rod. For this purpose, the inventive cleaning head for an electromechanical toothbrush consists of a bearing rod, a U-shaped plate which is provided with bristles on the internal surface thereof and fixed to said rod, a second U-shaped plate which is similar to the first U-shaped plate and disposed in a mirror manner with respect to the first plate. The bases of the U-shaped plates are connected by an axis penetrating through a shaped slot to a flat section embodied on the end of the bearing rod in the perpendicular direction of the axis thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cohesive progression of various sizes and shapes and styles of tooth and gum cleaning devices which are ideally suited to each stage of a child's physical and psychological development, and which maintain elements of familiarity to the child from stage to stage to make the progression less dramatic and less stressful to the child and to the caregiver. Several aspects of this invention have also been applied to tooth and gum cleaning devices for older children and adults and to powered toothbrush designs.
Abstract:
Toothbrush heads, e.g., for power toothbrushes, are provided. The toothbrush heads include a support member and a plurality of bristles or tufts of bristles extending from the support member, at least some of the bristles or bristle tufts having different heights, the bristles arranged so that their heights are symmetric, in a non-translatable mirror image symmetry, about two planes of symmetry.
