Abstract:
Abstract:
The present description is concerned with a personal hygiene device having a drive unit, an energy storage, in particular a rechargeable battery, a determination unit for repeatedly or constantly determining an energy storage level of the energy storage, and a control unit arranged for providing energy from the energy storage at the drive unit during an on state of the personal hygiene device and for gradually reducing the energy level provided at the drive unit from a nominal energy level to a first reduced energy level during a first energy level reduction time period when the determined energy storage level has fallen below a first energy storage level threshold but is above a second energy storage level threshold and for continuing provision of the first reduced energy level while the personal hygiene device stays in an on state and the determined energy storage level stays above the second energy storage level threshold.
Abstract:
In accordance with the present disclosure, a personal hygiene device has a resonant motor and a motor control unit for applying a periodic voltage signal with a driving frequency at the resonant motor for driving the resonant motor into an oscillating motion with an oscillating frequency equal to the driving frequency. The motor control unit comprises a synthesizer circuit for digitally synthesizing the periodic voltage signal from voltage pulses of variable length provided with a pulse frequency higher than the driving frequency such that at least two voltage pulses are applied at least in one of two half cycles of each period of the periodic voltage signal.
Abstract:
A resilient motor mount (70) for a power toothbrush (10) configured to limit the axial and rotational displacement of a shaft (60) of a motor (50). The displacement limits are designed to protect the toothbrush(10)from physical damage and to prevent rotational slipped poles, i.e. "cogging" errors, between the permanent magnets and poles of the resonating toothbrush motor(50).
Abstract:
An actuator (52) for a personal care appliance (50) comprises a housing(54), a spindle(64), a tangential actuator portion(70), and an axial actuator portion(72). The tangential actuator portion (70) includes first and second magnet and pole assemblies (76,78) that define a tangential spring function of the tangential actuator portion. The axial actuator portion (72) includes third and fourth magnet and pole assemblies (90,92) that define an axial spring function of the axial actuator portion. At least one of (i) the first and second magnet and pole assemblies (76,78) of the tangential actuator portion (70) and (ii) third and fourth magnet and pole assemblies (90,92) of the axial actuator portion are configured to enhance a corresponding spring function of the axial actuator portion or tangential actuator portion, respectively.
