Abstract:
A supercharger is provided that includes a housing having a first end and a second end. The housing may at least partially define a chamber and may include at least one rotor disposed within the chamber. The supercharger includes an inlet port proximate the first end of the housing and an outlet port proximate the second end of the housing. The supercharger further includes a relief chamber in fluid communication with the chamber. In an embodiment, the relief chamber may extend in the axial direction and may have a depth in the axial direction that is equal to at least about 10% of the axial length of the rotor.
Abstract:
A screw compressor 12 for use in a chiller assembly 10 includes cooperating screw rotors 22, 24, 26 configured to increase the pressure of a vaporized refrigerant flowing through the compressor 12, a venturi tube 50 arranged in a flow path of the refrigerant in the compressor 12 downstream of the rotors 22, 24, 26, and an inlet port 46 in fluid communication with a throat of the venturi tube 50 and configured to deliver liquid refrigerant from a condenser 16 of the chiller assembly 10 to the flow path of the refrigerant in the compressor 12. The venturi tube 50 is configured to cause a pressure drop in the refrigerant in the compressor 12. The liquid refrigerant delivered from the condenser 16 reduces pulsations in the pressure of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 12.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a scroll compressor, including: a hermetic container into and out of which refrigerant flows; a driving unit installed in the hermetic container to rotate on a rotational axis; an orbiting scroll fixed to the rotational axis and rotated with the rotation axis; and a fixed scroll fixed to the hermetic container, engaged with the orbiting scroll to define a compression chamber, and which compresses refrigerant by an interaction with the orbiting scroll, and discharges in the direction of a discharge space-side discharge hole heading from the compression chamber to the discharge space but not corresponding to a discharge direction of a compression chamber-side discharge hole. The scroll compressor reduces pulsation noise of refrigerant to improve noise performance.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a scroll compressor. The scroll compressor is configured to have a discharge outlet (113) of a fixed scroll (110) and a discharge guide groove of an orbiting scroll (120) for med in non-circular shapes such as a heart shape. Accordingly, it is capable of preventing a refrigerant from being incompletely or excessively compressed without additional bypass valves, thereby being capable of reducing a fabrication cost of the compressor. And, since it is not required to consider interference by other components at the time of installation of a bypass valve, it is capable of simplifying a fabrication process.
Abstract:
We provide a compressor or vacuum pump fluid intake manifold having a fluid intake and a pair of ports provided by male and female fittings that are slidably engaged to one another. The male fitting has a portion which forms a hollow plug which fits within a respective fluid intake of the compressor housing. The plug portion, or plug, is integrally molded with a longitudinal section of the male fitting member. In similar fashion, the female fitting includes a plug portion which interfaces with a fluid intake in the compressor housing. The plug portion is integrally molded with a longitudinal portion of the female fitting. In one embodiment, each of the plugs includes three extending flanges forming an integral portion of the plug. Two of the three flanges are furtherest away from the plug. These two flanges provide a contact pressure seal with portions of the compressor housing that define the fluid intakes which receive the plugs. The other plug serves to prevent the plugs from slipping out of the fluid intakes during normal use of the fluid intake manifold. Further, instead, each of the plugs can have a raised insert surface defining a groove with an O-ring and a flange integral with and extending from a surface of the plug. The O-ring provides a contact pressure seal with portions of the housing defining the compressor intake. The radially extending flange serves to inhibit the removal of the plug from the compressor intakes during normal use of the fluid manifold.
Abstract:
Inlet piece for a liquid-injected compressor element, characterized in that it comprises a sleeve (8) which consists of a casing (11), a bottom wall (12) provided with an opening (13) and a top wall (14) which is entirely tight, a pipe (9) opening on the inside of the sleeve (8) and a partition (10) comprising a span part (15) which spans the opening (13) in the aforesaid bottom wall (12) and which transforms into an inclosing part (16) reaching down to the bottom wall (13), whereby the partition (10) leaves a passage (18) on one side of the opening (13) and the pipe (9) opens in the sleeve (8) between the top wall (14) and the span part (15), such that, because of the partition (10), gas flowing from the opening (13) to the pipe (9) has to make among others a revolving movement.
