Abstract:
The invention relates to a process of applying a temporary protective coating to a substrate comprising the steps of: a) providing a laminate comprising i) a flexible carrier substrate and ii) a coating layer prepared by applying by spreading, spraying or flow coating an aqueous coating composition comprising at least one water based film- forming polymer and solid particles of an amino resin based polymer to the flexible carrier substrate, and drying the applied coating composition, and b) transferring the coating from the flexible carrier substrate to a second substrate to provide the second substrate with a temporary protective coating.
Abstract:
A rain guard assembly for providing shelter to an occupant entering or exiting a vehicle is described. Generally, the retractable rain guard assembly may comprise a housing integrally mounted within a roof of an automobile, a covering retractably held within the housing and having one or more engagement portions positioned along a free end of the covering, and one or more securement members positioned along a door of the automobile and aligned in a manner corresponding to positions of the one or more engagement portions. The one or more securement members are actuatable to engage to corresponding engagement portions such that opening of the door relative to the roof extends the covering therebetween. The covering may be engaged remotely, such as by a key fob, or automatically by a water detection sensor on the automobile.
Abstract:
A cover of the rear bumper of a car comprises a back part (1), which during the use of the cover (10) reaches into the car boot, a front part (4), which during the use of the cover (10) covers at least a part of the outer surface of the rear bumper of the car, and an intermediate- part (2), connecting the rear part (1) and the front part (4), wherein the cover (10) comprises a hole (5) for the lock of the car boot.
Abstract:
A vehicle masking cover (10) for protecting external areas of a vehicle (100) from overspray during a refinishing process, comprising a plurality of panel sections (20), each panel section being provided with a fastening means (96, 98) which detachably interconnects with the fastening means (96, 98) of an adjacent panel section to form a sealed seam. The arrangement is such that a portion of a panel section (20) is folded back from the vehicle masking cover (10) to expose an external area of the vehicle (100) to be refinished while the external area of the vehicle (100) underneath the interconnected panel sections (20) of the vehicle masking cover (10) is protected from overspray, the folded panel section (20) remaining attached to the vehicle masking cover (10) at a portion of the folded panel section (20).
Abstract:
A portable shelter that attaches to the outsides of the tires of the vehicle, as opposed to the body or wheel hubs of the vehicle. The shelter includes a canopy attached to an upper end of at least one mast, and a mast base that is attached to a lower end of the mast. The mast base comprises a threaded bolt, a plate having a threaded opening for receiving the bolt therethrough, and a holder for receiving a lower end of the bolt. The base also includes a plurality of arms that each have a first end attached to the holder and a second end attached to a hook. Braces are mounted between the plate and the arms so that when the bolt moves relative to the plate, the arms move relative to the holder so that the hooks on the arms can receive the outsides of a tire.
Abstract:
A solar power system for providing electricity to a vehicle. The system includes a motor vehicle, having: a battery, a roof, a front window, and a hood; a rectangular roof solar panel module disposed on the roof and in electrical communication with the battery; and a rectangular windshield solar panel module pivotally coupled to the roof solar panel module, disposable over the front windshield, and in electrical communication with the battery. Additionally, the system includes: a rectangular hood solar panel module pivotally coupled to the windshield solar panel module, disposable over the hood, and in electrical communication with a high capacity battery pack.
Abstract:
In order to provide a windscreen cover that may be attached to the windscreen of a vehicle away from, as well as at, its perimeter, the present invention provides a cover assembly for a vehicle windscreen, the cover assembly comprising a cover (1) and at least one fixing member (11) secured to the cover, and the cover comprising at least one magnetic region (6) that is magnetically engageable with the at least one fixing member (11), wherein the cover (1) is adapted such that, in use, the cover is positionable adjacent the outside face of the windscreen and the or each fixing member (11) is positionable adjacent the inside face of the windscreen, such that the or each fixing member (11) engages magnetically with a magnetic region (6) of the cover through the windscreen.
Abstract:
A device for coering an object which is transported in an air stream, including a cover (10) which at least partially traverses the object, and a differential pressure device (28) disposed on the cover which creates a pressure differential between the air under the cover and the air passing over or around the cover, where the pressure differential causes the air under the cover to exhaust to an exterior of the cover, drawing the cover toward the object, and where the pressure differential device creates the pressure differential when the covered object is transported in a frontward position with respect to a direction of travel and in a rearward position with respect ot the direction of transport.
